This n That

Read a disturbing post recently (someone's opinion, I think) - that 1bs have only a 20-30% SVR rate, even after clearing the virus at 12 weeks and completing the full 48. That seems to run counter to what everyone else says; that once cleared at 12, there's a 80% chance of SVR. So, I called Pegassist this morning to ask, and the only data they have is from the first set of original trials, which list the 50-50 rate, and the nurse I spoke to said that since Pegasys is so new, they have no data over a year old. She said that data does include the people that had to quit tx, so it does seem that the 50% SVR rate should improve after clearing. Any other data or comments?

I know it's important to maintain a positive and doggedly determined attitude to get through this tx, but it's easy to get depressed over the chances that you're going through this all for (what someone says) is a 20% chance. Hope it's not true.

Another thought; do red and white blood cells die on their own, due to the drugs we're taking, or does exertion, exercise or becoming tired use them up more? Just wondering if it's better to exercise even when feeling worn out, or to conserve what little energy you have, or if it makes any difference at all.

Another thought; has anyone reduced their Pegasys dosage to .75 ml, due to low abs neutrophils, and still maintained viral clearance?

I want to say thanks to everyone for all their great posts. I don't write much, but read alot, and it's so helpful to know that we're not alone in this crazy drug adventure.

Wishing everyone a happy sides-free day!
