Three weeks post treatment

Three weeks post treatment

I promised several of you that I would keep you posted on how things were going since completing treatment on October 20th. I started treatment at 206lbs and ended at 169lbs. This morning I was at 181lbs. No more headaches, patience is back, thinking is clear, walked several miles of trails this past weekend in the mountains, energy is coming back strong, actually fell asleep saturday during a football game for the first natural nap in a year, legs and hips have stopped hurting. Feel really good right now and starting to forget certain things about the problems of treatment. Won't know if I am clear for a while yet but this was just to let you folks know that in a short time I have started feeling well and sides are going, going and hopefully gone. You have my prayers and thoughts. Dale

Wow - I'd love to say you sound like you're back to your old self but........we never knew you until treatment!   ;-P

Thank you for the great post.  I can't WAIT for the day when I can say I "forget" about the rigors of treatment and don't mean cause of brain fog!

Dale - you keep it up.  We all love you and hope you continue to keep us updated. You lift up our hearts with such good news so KEEP IT COMING!

It's great to hear that you're feeling better. Now, just watch your diet or you'll be at the overeating section of the board. Good luck Dale. Mike

Thanks for keeping us updated.  I have 12 more weeks of treatment and just talked to the Roche nurse about what to expect after treatment.  She said the interferon stays in your system for 30 days and the ribavirin can stay there for 70 days to 6 months.  So it's good to hear you are feeling well so soon.  There is hope for all of us.

I am soooo glad you posted this information.  I have 2 shots left and all I worry about these days are the lasting sides.  I started having fears of them never going away.  I hate this tx so much and it gets really hard to stay the course when you are so close to the end.

It is so good to hear you have everything so far coming back to normal.  NOW THAT"S A FUNNY WORD,  NORMAL.  At this point, I really do not know what that is anymore.  I can not wait to feel that again. I have started on my treadmill, but very slow and with no incline, then I will go from there.  My legs hurt too much to push to fast.

C O N G R A D U L A T I O N S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep us posted on your next pcr.

Great New, I'll bet you are like on top of the world these days.

Wow that is great news Dale, know you had some rough times there on tx and I'm glad your feeling better. Hey I've put on a whopping 15 lbs, so I'm up to 130 since stopping 3mos ago...unfortunately though I've grown an addiction to a nightly 2 bowls of ice cream covered in jello /wfruit slices, plus whatever else I can  vacumn down the gullet from the fridge. Just told the kid I might have to add workin out to work..the belly feels a little jello-ie itself.
Be Well,
Don

Great news!!! I love a happy ending. Happy to hear you're getting back to " normal" again. I'm just about 2 weeks out of tx as well, your thread is a shot in the arm, so to speak... I'm noticing some changes as well. The one thing that hasn't returned yet is my appetite, but that will come in time. Sending you good vibes out for your future lab results. Keep killin' those little critters...   Pauly

Glad you came back and gave us such uplifting news.   It is so nice to hear when someone is svr and is actually improving in health in leaps and bounds.   Congrats.   Do keep us posted.  This friday I will complete the first 1/3 of my tx.  Sounds fast but at time....no not really.

We  ended treatment about the same time.  I ended on Oct. 25th.  Although I think you did 48 weeks.  Luckily I only did 24 weeks.  I am also recovering for the effects of treatment.  Anyone that can get through this is a hero in my eyes.

Congratulations on feeling better and hiking.  Looking to hear about your PCR.
