Thyroid THS - concerns during SOC Tx

Thyroid THS - concerns during SOC Tx

I started SOC 3 weeks ago  (shot 3 - 4 days ago) with mid range THS & T4 lab results as my baseline , TSH is dropping fast & I'm concerned about this movement and a few other I note later in this post ...

Doctors Labs Reference ranges :

TSH - 0.270 - 4.200

FT4 - 0.71 - 1.85

My Baseline results:

TSH - 1.37

FT4 - 1.13

End of first week's Tx results:

TSH - 0.89

FT4 - 1.07

End of second week results:

TSH - 0.558

FT4 - not run at this lab - but checked at another .

All the above labs were taken by my Gastro's / Hemo's lab ..

A Different lab results at the beginning of week 3, - 3 days after my third shot :

Reference range other lab :

TSH - 0.47 - 4.64

FT4 - 0.71 - 1.85

Lab results :

TSH - 0.57

FT4 - 1.09

I am a bit concerned about the low TSH level , I know from this forum and others how many folks have basically "blown out" or lost Thyroid gland function as a direct result of SOC Tx .... I'd like to prevent that happening to me , if at all possible .

I crossed check his result by having a different lab run the TSH & T4 tests as I live in a third world country and , well , to be honest do not 100% feel warm and fuzzy inside with this Doc , unfortunately not another option for a Gastro doctor close to where I live . He is pretty smart overall but not a specialist for HCV , so experience is lacking ... to his defense that is only because of our location. He is also a Professor and teacher of Gastro & Hemo at the local Univ. He is open to suggestions after I push him ,a good thing !

One lucky factor , blood testing is not so expensive , results are given within 3 - 5 hrs . As you can see however there are different Reference Ranges given from the 2 different labs .

My LFT's are looking good, coming down fast , but other new problems out of RR (reference range) after starting Tx :

Thrombocyte 133 - RR 150 - 440
Neutrophil     40.1 - RR 50-70
Monocyte     19.0 - RR   2- 8

The above - Cause for concern ??

Your feedback , experience and suggestion will be greatly appreciated and warmly welcomed !

Maybe someone will read this tomorrow and chime in on your question.  I think the ratio of ppl who have throid problems is higher with females.  Just an unprofessional observation I've heard it could go either way but I have mostly heard females with the problem.  good luck

Your TSH and T4 cell numbers are at the low end of the RR however nothing to be concerned with at this point

Treatment meds very often affect the thyroid and their isn"t really anything you can do about that.

The lower the number means their is less thyroid hormone in your blood therefore the thyroid must work harder(hyperthyroidism) and the higher the number(hypothyroidism).

Some symptoms of hyper are increased energy, appetite mild weight loss and diarrhea .

Very often early in tx. the thyroid goes somewhat hyper then later on and forever be hypo(underactive)

It is good  you are monitoring it and if it gets to .1 or.2 or  are starting to have symptoms you may want to speak to you dr. about starting on  a beta-blocker,however your level at this time like I said is nothing to be concerned with.

If as tx. goes on or at the end it has gone hypo that can be well regulated with  a drug called synthroid.

As far as the other bl.levels you asked about someone else will comment as I am just not exactly sure what they mean.

Hope that helps.

I was diagnosed hyper at week 24 (0.0) then hypo at week 30 when I had my nuclear imagiing scan (6.2).  Stayed hypo forever and take synthroid every day and it keeps it about 2 which is fine.

At .5 you are getting close to this area and should be seen by an endocronoligist for the best advice possible.
