Tired all the time

My husband has HCN type 1a he has did the treatment 2 time with no results both times. He has cirrhosis and I'm not sure of the stage. I just want to know if anyone out there could help me and tell me what to expect. He is still working but tired all the time. Maybe one good day here and there but for the most part he stays on the sofa. He has itchy skin and pain around the liver area ankle swell and weight loss I'm not sur of anything else. Could anyone out there help me and tell me what he is going to expect. His Doctor has suggested for him to retire.

The new drug for geno 1 is called telaprevir and will be out in 2011.
Your husband could benefit if his liver is not too far gone.
The next resort would be a liver transplant.
We could tell you more about what to expect if we had the results of his full blood count and liver function tests.
Maybe you can get them from the doctor.
The big question is 'Is the cirrhosis compensated or decompensated?'
Ask the doctor-it just means is his liver still doing it's job, or is it starting to fail.
Cirrhosis is a long road and  any  bloodwork numbers you can provide will help us explain more to you.
