Dont wory about change in taste and loss of appitite... thats happen during tx ... i am also facing it... My taste is still not normal (week 18) but the things were really bad uptill week 12/13.... Durig week 10-12 i really lost apetiite and used to eat only one time and it consists of 3-4 slices of bread only and nothing else and due to change in taste and weired smell i could think of eating anything while my doc used to insist that i should eat normal otherwise he'll be forced to stop TX. By the grace of Allah this situation vanished after 2 week time but that two week were really HORRIBLE. Ithink you should improve your food and think as you are taking medicine (which is mandatory to you) and not the food. Things will be fine soon....

Now i am in week 18 and my digestive system has become very good even it used to be before TX now i eat more than i used to eat before Tx and my Hgb also started increasing and all that happened without any medicine etc. Just take juices ( only of those fruits which are recomended by your doc) , this will also rise your apetite ( my personal experiance is Pomegranette juice does improve apetite and also an apple if taken half an hour before meal also improve the apetite.

Dont worry about these things , these will be better once your body get used to medicine and for weekness consult your doc.

wierd and metalic tastes and smells are not uncommon during tx. Most seem to get some, although many such symptoms subside as time goes on.

Muscle weakness can be from several things. Make sure you are staying hydrated.
A  muscle without enough water or minerals can feel very tired and sore. Also if your red cell count goes too low you will have trouble standing walking and feeling sore.

the way you described it, it sounds most like the onset of chemo induded anemia.

You need to have the doctor do a CBC (complete blood count) panel to see how many red cells you still have. They carry all the oxygen, and must be carefully watched. If nothing is wrong there make sure they check your electolytes (pottasium and so on), and make sure you get at least 1 liter per 100 lbs. of body weight each day..

i will collect CBC + ALT reports and will go for Dr today. I feel thirst every time and drink too much water. i am also facing loose stool issue since the start treatment. Some times it is good and some times it becomes very bad. i have IBS which causes real problem for me. it is stress related. When i feel tens it becomes worst. I m fighting double battle.

Thnks very much for early response

Please make sure your doctor does another CBC right away and check your hemoglobin. Once the number gets down to 10 many doctors will give you a medication that will help bring it back up again. When you have a low hemo number your body does not have enough oxygen circulating in the blood stream.....this makes it very difficult to stand and breathe and things like that. Also ringing in your ears feeling faint are very common with this too.

It is a GOOD thing to be drinking a lot of water, in fact VERY important. The medications do dry you out extremely much and you should be taking in about half of your body weight in ounces of fluids a day. If you weigh for example 140 you should drink 70ounces. 180pounds 90 ounces.

These things will help you a lot.

Good luck. Make sure you do get to the doctor about the possibility of hemolytic anemia as it is very common and you are at just about the right week for it to be starting to hit you hard.

I am at week 12 and have the same experience with tiredness and breathlessness, presumably because of depressed haemoglobin levels (hovering at 11 or so). The bad news for me however is that my appetite has returned to completely normal and without my normal physical exercise (3 x 1.5 h/w in the gym) weight is becoming an issue along with muscle atrophy.
