To all the Interferon Haters

by nygirl7, Jun 29, 2007 12:00AM
Seriously - if you think it's the devils potion and you'd never do it in a billion years and you aren't treating or ever thinking of doing so...

You don't need to be here.

Go start a I hate interferon website but this site is for people who are well educated and take this disease SERIOUSLY.  We don't approve of ignorant repetitive posting under different names of slamming the medication that is responsible for CURING us.

There can be complications from ANY medication you take from aspirin to morphine - so unless you plan on being medication free for the rest of your life.....

Goodbye.

'Interferon haters'

I think some T-shirts might be in order.

I wouldn't say I 'hate' interferon, but I'm not really that fond of it either. I'm what you might call 'interferon neutral'. Now ribaviron can kiss my asss. End of story. That's a nasty little drug that should be replaced ASAP.

What do you think it takes to make someone hate INF ?

Yours in truth,
Mr Liver

by nygirl7, Jun 29, 2007 12:00AM
I guess anyone who can't stop spouting nonesense about hwo much they hate interferon and how bad it is for you probably should answer that question because I don't know the answer.

I heart the stuff personally.

I mean in a way it's like a bad boy boyfriend....you know it might not be truly good for you through and through but for some things...it's perfect ;)

I am a drug attic, how bout you? I live everyday for it. Up by 5am, work by 7am, first pop (riba) by 8am or 9 when i remember, home by 5pm, second pop this goes on day after day and then we can’t forget Tuesday is triple dose day riba and then bang then the roller coaster ride for 2 ½ days with the pops in between and then Friday another triple dose day, again! And on top of this they make me work ta boot and then some. Yes, I love this life… I haven’t done this much soft drugs since my teens but then again i was younger.

I can just see it now LMFAO

" I hate Interferon"
  "Stop Riba Now"
" Say No To Pegasys"

That could be the beginning of a fortune! We would all have enough dinero
for treatment and maybe a vacay?? when its all over and done.

I think of this forum as a place of research, support and information and advice. I have gained incredible insight into this disease I have, primarily 'cause of this forum and links to other sites. Do i like this tx....NO! Do I hope it saves me from cirrhosis, liver cancer...YES! Do I want to hear everything about positive alternative immune boosters..YES! Do I believe what everyone says as Gospel...NO. What I do believe it that everyone has a right to their opinion and ganging up on people and being rude to them because one doesn't agree or doesn't believe the person is for real...is Ridiculous. Move on people...there are plenty of other posts to read. This site is starting to get a little like "Big Brother." The powers that be...can shut posters down because the zoo is in an uproar and they must keep the animals quiet. It's bizarre!
I say, Live and Let Live!

susan400 gave some really interesting info. regarding shitake mushrooms helping to boost low wbc's. I love hearing about stuff like that. Especially since I cannot afford neupogen or epogen or whatever. If we continue to bash everyone who doesn't agree, this forum will sink! (and stink!)

For some reason when I read the thread title I thought of the song 'All the peg I've shot before'.  Willie Nelson, wasn't it.

What a wonderful thing for you to post... made me laugh and laugh.  I understand that IFN saved a big bunch of my liver up to date, but I'm like ihorn.....I hate riba.  Riba can kiss my asss too, and then ride out on the horse it rode up on.

I took riba for 218 days.....I can take anything now.

I hate riba.

I really hate riba.

Talk about weight loss… WOW! In just 4 months time I went from 6’4 210lbs blond hair and blue eyes to 6’3 189 and holding, gray/blue eyes sunken of course. Lost all the hair on my legs and no hair growth on my head, yeah buddy this is the life for me. In the beginning I started taking my shots in the thighs because there was enough cellulite there but guess what in one month’s time one thigh was bigger than the other so I started to hit the other thigh and after banging into the nerves in the other one. Yeah, and you know what! damn if the other thigh didn’t shrink too. I also started carrying a barf bag where ever I go so as to not embarrass by self in public, they think I’m hyperventilating. So, I started taking the shots in the buns, they weren’t too shabby looking back then but now I have two deflated pancakes that I let rest on what is left of my upper back thighs because they slip out from under the under ware, yes grim I know, but the only place left to take the shots is in the belly and at this point I ain’t willing to do that cuz if the belly goes so does the pants and everyone will start singing it’s a small world after all, so this is just a small part of life here in hepperville.  Damn everyone has gotten sooo tight pantied around here this place is becoming dull.

Whats not to like about INF don’t you like horseys.
Or don’t you like Mobil (same horse different color)
Me, I didn’t mind riding Pegy.
I want to get back on, even though it threw me off.

Riba Rage is misnamed BTW, its the white horsey.
On the upside with Riba you aint gunna catch the Flu, so at least it has something going for it.

jaspar:  Drug attic? LOL, thats better than being in the closet anyday." Help, I'm caught in the tx attic! "
Nygirl: I don't hate inteferon but if you start an, I hate neupogen post, I'll rattle on for ages.
You are right about those who are turning the focus from a helpful, compassionate and humorous forum, into a personal rant.
If it isn't helpful or entertaining, delete it.

"If it isn't helpful or entertaining, delete it."
Who gets to be the final arbiter? I don't find posts that contain what I already know as helpful, but I don't whine about it. It's the nature of ANY message board. What I may not find entertaining (geterdone's 10,000 word SPAM on the other side, for example) perhaps someone else will.An informational post might not be a helpful post to you, but someone else might be greatful for it. (I think you get my drift).

And hydrocortisone is OK. Just use as directed.

The Gold Bond contains ingredients that are not liver-friendly. Any menthol, mint, peppermint, etc is not good for a liver (especially the oils. So, use that as directed as well and it shouldn't be a problem.)

Yours in truth,
Mr Liver

I'm 55 blonde but only 5 ft. and shinking from INF. But I love the visuals also on your post. That's what makes these threads go round. If it could be fixed after the first round of this stuff I did, now on my 4/5 th round (who remembers). I don't plan on trading in this husband anyway. He has too much invested at this point. I'm trying the peg and Infergen regimen. We'll see what it does for the waistline. "I want a new drug" could also be on of our songs. Boy we could take this places gang.

Sorry, my statement wasn't clear. What I meant is, when I write, I usually re-read my post to see if what I am saying is helpful. Sometimes, especially during tx, I can get too sarcastic or nasty, and I then delete what I wrote.  We can censor ourselves. I don't believe in censoring others. If I don't like what I'm reading I can click it away.  Magic at my finger tips !
