Took my babies for Hep C test today/ other posts welcome

I'm really worried and nervous.  I will get the results back tomorrow.  My twins are almost 20 months old and they were born via c-section.

Please pray for us and send good thoughts.

I'll pray but I'm sure they are just fine.  The odds are VERY low, hold tight to that!

I had both of my kids tested and they came back neg.  I definitely had it when they were born and had no idea.

Fortunately those test results don't take long to get back so you'll be at peace with the GOOD NEWS very shortly!

the best wishes to them, most likely to be a negative result, but pray I will.

Oh, my heart does go out to you, I had to take my 3 young children to be tested and it was a horrendous time, I felt so bad putting them through it, but  they were all clear, and my 3 year old was born by c section, and the other two were pretty bloody affairs too!! (sorry guys) so I felt sure they would be positive, but they were all fine. The day I found that out was the best day of my life, I hope your ***** will be clear too - I am sure they will be - it seems that this is a pretty tough virus to pass on, but for me it was totally the right decision to get them tested - I just couldn't have taken the constant worry.

Please keep us posted

Good grief!!! I promise I made no lewd comments above - I had meant to put babies, but can't see that that is a bleepable offence!!!!! (most likely my appalling keyboard skills!)

I will definately send my prayers.  I just had my baby tested last week.  I must run for now but I will give details when I have time.  I learned much from the "pope" of pediatric infectious disease, Dr. Joseph Buchinni.  I will share all.  And remember the chances are rare for them to be infected.

Off to my babies swim lessons for now:)

Wanted to wish you luck with these results!  I'm saying a prayer.  I hope you get great results!
As someone living through this though, I want to tell you that even IF the hep may have been transmitted to your babies, they will be FINE!!!!!
Another thought to keep in mind since I am assuming they are doing the antibody test is that your babies may by chance still have your antibodies in their system.  Most antibodies are out by the age of 18 months, but just keep this in mind if the results come back unfavorable.  They may not have the virus at all.
I am not saying all this to be negative or a downer, I am sure the results will be great!  But, I just wanted to pass on some info.  :)

I'am sayng a prayer,Ihave 2 daugther, the last one is 18 months,I found I was HCV +  1b with high viral load when she was 5 days, during the labor the doctors cutted her head.I was very scared ,at 3 months she was positive for the RIBA test and negative for RNA PCR qualitative and for the quantitative. At 12 months she was indeterminate for the RIBA and negative for RNA PCR qualitative and quantitative.I decided I will not test her again. The big daugther was tested 2 differents times for the antibody and she was negative.Sorry for my english.I'll pray for your twins .
