tramadol is not liver friendly....go to pub med, and type in tramdol and liver toxicity
I read extensively on the topic, and came to the conclusion doctors seldom read research papers...
my doc insisted the reserch was wrong so I made her do a CBC on me...
then I went off the tramadol and did another cbc a week later
my ALT AST was half of what it was. The research is there.
actually if you have to be on something oxycodone without any tylenol is the best bet, but keep doses as low as possible.
I take half a 5 mg tab at a time and am able to walk as a result (8 ruptured and 2 missing discs) but it's better to try to keep meds to a minimum with LD and HCV.
No -- Tramadol (Ultram) is liver-friendly, and is often prescribed during HCV tx.
The ribavirin was originally 1200 and lowered to 1000 to help me function better. Tramadol is such an odd drug with all of its do's and don'ts listed, I don't want to screw up my progress. I don't take another blood test for 3 1/2 weeks and am worried about it throwing my hgb even lower with the change in the ribavirin. I think I over researched the drug and hope I just scared myself into thinking it could affect the tx and would feel better if someone could tell me yes or no or "stop searching the web" LOL
how much did they lower the ribavirin to? what was it originally?
