Hi, sorry you're feeling so bad. If this can be of some kind of consolation to you.
I was in bed all through tx. that's 32 weeks. I had to sit on the floor taking my showers, as I was afraid to fall over, etc, etc. Weak is not even the word I would use.
My Hgb was always just above 10, so no rescue drugs. Mind you, my blood pressure was very low all the way through tx too. On average 90/55.
My eyes also hurt, off and on. But it got better the further I got into tx.
Hope you will feel better soon.
For the dry mouth/ leather- tongue -at -night thing...I discovered a mouth moisturizing gel made by oragel when I was on tx...It was wonderful! It tastes okay and it has glycerin in it to make the moisture stick around...And it only costs about $4...If your mouth starts getting sores or you get thrush, there is a prescription called "magic mouthwash" that many chemo patients use. Heaven as well...(I think it has lidocaine, Maalox, miconozole (?) and something else...) Hope this helps! ((((((((HUGZ))))))~MM
I like your name a lot!!!
You could be in a critical zone I know for my self it kind of got easier after week 16
on both of my treatments.
Hope its the same for you maybe you need rescue drugs for that low hgb.

Hello,
I appreciate your reply so much. I have been a little concerned about my sore eyes, Its winter and cold here and in the cold weather I struggle to drink water so I dont doubt the dehydration.
Truth is Im tired of being so tired, so irritable, so resentful and so gastrointestinally challenged!! My stomach has really good days and then out of no where it turns on me and it takes days to get it straightened out. It seems angry about something! Then one blissful day I wake up and its back to normal.
Thanks again!!
Hello Steve,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, weak is the word. Its a trip. Last summer I ran a 10k and a 5k and now I have trouble walking upstairs!! I am hanging in there and I am glad that you are too! This website has been and is a great source of info, encouragement and comfort.
Hey there,
Thanks for your reply. I am taking it all in stride. I will tell you what I find most difficult is other folks really not understanding how I feel. I think they look at me and think well she looks alright so she must feel alright. I can put some blush and lip gloss on but still feel like poop on a stick, so when I have to say thanks but no thanks Im staying home or I just dont feel like like going I begin to feel guilty and resentful at the same time. Crazy but true, If I could just lay in my bed and read and get up only to get a drink and go to the restroom well then this would be alot easier!!
I am a genotype 1a. I was undetected at 4 weeks. Im seriously considering only doing 24 weeks. Right now I am taking it one day at a time.I have good days, actually some great days and the memory of those days help me get through the bad ones. Thanks again for your reply and for listening.
I'm starting week 13 next week, and I have been noticing more sx the last week. I'm fortunate that I've been able to use vacation time to take 1 day off a week.
I do my shot on Thursdays, and originaly I thought I would take Friday off, but as it turns out, I feel ok on the day of shot, and even Friday/Sat. Sunday I'm more headachy and achy and Monday, thank goodness I can take that day off. Tuesdays are rough, Wed is a little better, then I'm back to Thurs. I don't seem to feel anything from the shot at all. I think I'm more affected by the daily pills.
My sx include fatigue (I'm in IT, so even walking around the office seems to get be kind of breathless, and sometimes I feel as if my legs are going to give out). I've been able to stick it out. In October my office moved, and I had to move 38 computers from the 4th floor to the basement (on carts), and it nearly killed me. (OK, I'm exagerating, but I did get very sick after this, infection in sinus and chest. I called the dr right away because the phlegm was green and he prescribed antibiotics and it cleared within days).
Other sx: extremely dry skin, psoriasis spots, dry lips, cracked lips, dry and thinning hair, itchy scalp. I've ordered Nioxin (on Amazon) to help with the scalp problems.
Over the last couple of weeks I now have ringing in my ears, and itchy ears. I'm going to ask the liver doctor about this when I go in to review my 12 week labs on 12/17.
I don't go anywhere without water. I am thirsty all the time, and sometimes drinking water doesn't help the dry mouth. I've been chewing gum (sour gum) when that happens and it seems to help trigger saliva.
How log is your treatment? If it is 24 weeks, like me, you are halfway there! Good luck.
Hi there myFatherswill what you're describing is the normal feelings of your Tx lowering your blood work I feel same way , short breath, no energy & as you know you just feel weak etc ... I take my hat off to people on Tx that still keep their job
Oh yeah, I think there's alot of us that have hit the same place that you are now. I can't imagine waiting tables with a low hgb ! Running around AND carrying things...WOW!
Eye drops can help with the sore eyes (I've used GenTeal when it got bad), but many times it's a result of dehydration. I upped my water intake, and it was gone.
I had a rough spot about week 10-16 and again from week 30-42. In between I felt OK, with some even bordering on "good", but pretty much you have to roll with it for the greater gain. Take advantage of the good days and baby yourself on the 'off' days.
Hope things improve for you..................Pam
