Nice job! You are on your way. Remember to take all doses and you have a great chance of SVR.
Sofosbuvir works like a charm doesn't it.
I'm a previous genotype 1b null-responder with cirrhosis to peg-INF + Ribavirin
'An Open-Label Study to Explore the Clinical Efficacy of GS 7977 With Ribavirin Administered Pre-Transplant in Preventing Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Recurrence Post-Transplant'
Conditions: Hepatitis C; Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Intervention: Drug: GS-7977+RBV
Had a viral load of 692,000 day 1
One week - 581
Two week - <25 UND 4.44 log drop
I am now on week 24 of treatment.
'm not in the Gilead trial, (congrats to all doing well with it)
was just trying to get some thoughts on viral loads,. I don't know if my numbers are good or not
I'm in another study, but thats irrelevent.
When I was screened my Vl was 8.9 million
After one week it was 200.
Would one of guys more experienced with this stuff care to give me their thoughts on this number. Is this good?
All my enzemes returned to normal for the first time since being diagnosed in 1996 too,
Well, you're looking at a logarithmic drop, not really a straight number drop. Yes, I'd say that your numbers are good for one week. You have more than a 4 log drop, so that's very good.
Your next test result, and the one after at four weeks will be very interesting. The virus replicates very quickly...and it doesn't check itself to see if it has a perfect copy. That means that it gets all sorts of defective replicas, but every once in awhile it gets lucky and replicates one that's resistant to your meds.
At least, that's how my GI/Hepatologist explained it to me.
I should be getting my two week kabs thrusday.
Then i dont get tested again till week 4
On IFN my numbers doubled in 3 months!
I havent seen mormal enzemes till last week either
You are right on, Undectable is the only number that coundts!
Again, thank yo for taking the time to explain. i really appreciate it
I havent allowed myself to get too worked up ovre it
I'm cautiously optimistic.
Eki, I'm so happy to hear your great news, wow, UND in one week! Congratulations! That's amazing, and also really nice to know just in case I'm not SVR. I have just a few more weeks before that critical 24 weeks post-EOT test. It will probably be good, but I can't let myself count on it yet, not after all my previous failures. Do continue to give us news of how it's going.
