Update: 3 Days Left of Incivek!!!

This is just an update:  my husband has three days left of Incivek!!!  He'll be finished on Thursday night this week.  He's managed pretty well throughout this treatment so far (third treatment in four years).  He was VL 78 at Week 4 and VL UND at Week 8.  His labs were all good last Friday, but he does have symptoms of anemia (extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness, pale, weakness, cold hands/feet) even though hemotocrit and hemoglobin were both OK last week.  He came home early from work last Thursday, missed work on Friday due to symptoms of anemia, and spent the weekend resting.  He went to work last night, but had a tough time (fatigue, shortness of breath, nausea).  He reduced Ribavirin from 1200 to 1000 yesterday per Nurse Practitioner's advice.  The immediate goals are to get to Thursday, finish Incivek, and check labs again on Friday.  The long range goals are to complete 36 1/2 more weeks of treatment and reach SVR!!

Good news.  Just being fat free is such a relief.  Life after incivek has been so much easier for me.  Not that i still don't feel bad, each day is a challenge still, but it's still much easier without the incivek sx.  Hoping it is the same for your husband.

Congratulations!  My husband is just entering his 4th week, can't wait to be looking at only a few more days of the Incivek.  So far so good, but we're taking it one day at a time.  He has good and bad days, mostly good at this point.  Hoping the rest of his tx is smooth sailing!

Hope your husband feels better after the riba reduction.  Sounds like those last few weeks on Inc are tough for many.  Also hope the remainder of trt on SOC goes easier for him.  Being his third, he sure does need a break.  Best wishes to both of you.

I finished Incivek on Nov 23rd...have same side effects, low Hemo, fatigue.
On last 30 days I developed the rash, mild but the itching is a bear.
My treatment will be completed Feb 13, 2012.

I am hoping your husband feels better when he stops Incivek. I know I do and I have only been off of it for 2 days, LOL. I also hope his labs improve and he does well. Countdown: 3 more days! WooHoo! A time to celebrate.
