Very confused...what to do next

I was diagnosed with Hep C about a year and a half ago. I found out I had it for over 10 years before finding out. I went to a Hep doctor and he wanted to start me on the combo therapy, but after reading so many negative things about it on the internet and elsewhere I decided to try an alternative medicine program instead. I have been doing my alternative meds for about a month now and I would like to find out whether they are doing any good or not. Its costing me quite a bit and I don't want to continue them unless they are helping me. Regarding what I have told you, I have a few questions:
1. Do I have to have another biopsy in order to find out whether thse alternative meds are helping me or not, or can they find that out with a simple blood test?
2. I have the results of my blood tests and I don't understand what all the 3 letter abbreviations stand for or mean.Which of those abbrevations on the blood test is the most signifiicant to watch, as far as the numbers going up and down?
3. How often should I see a doctor or have my liver checked?
4. Is there any pain reliever I can take when I get a headache that won't harm my liver?
