Very worried about possible exposure to blood

Hi everyone,

Some days ago i was joking with my friends and one of them scratched one of my friend with her nails making him bleed. About after 10-15 minutes she superficial scratched very me and after about 30 seconds i bleeded a very little, just one little dot of blood.

I'm so worried about being infected with Hep C or HIV if she had some blood of my friend on her nails and then she scratched me making me bleed.

Did i had a risk for this bloodborne infections? I'm very worried about that and i can't even sleep or eat..

Now it's been 1,5 weeks after this episode, should i get tested at 4 weeks with HCV-RNA PCR or should i wait 3 months and get tested with Antibodies test or i can simple forget this thing without any testing?

I would be more concerned about the mental state of your friend than hepc

I dont know why anyone would think of hepc after being scratched it always confuses me the way people think - it never ever would have crossed my mind to think so.

I have never heard of anyone getting hep C that way. I could see it being theoretically possible if your skin had been broken by the scratch but it wasn't so even if your friend had hep c u couldn't have gotten it the way u describe.

You don't have hepc so don't worry about it.
If you are still worried then get the PCR test, it will be negative for a viral load but it will put your mind at ease.
