Victory UND at 6 mo. and Alinia to ice the cake!

great news, that persistance pays off...  I finally got UND....by not giving up when I had 4 other infections and quitting at the first setback!!

and to ice the cake my doc, who was dismissive the first 3 times I brought the reseasrch to hom...finally said he looked at it...taked to Dr. Emmett...maybe Scratchy putting the bug in his partners ear helped..
who know..
prayers certainly......anyway he did a 180 and said let's put Alinia on board with you for the duration..

so persistance and prayer does pay off......here's hoping it holds....it's nice to finally have some good news of my own!!
thanks to all you nerds who kept me going and armed with enough stats to sink Nah's Ark...
all the bobble head's take a big bow please....

Glad to hear this. Wow, we are in a whole new dimension clearing at 6 mos!  It sounds like you will have to treat another year to make the whole thing worthwhile. Wish I had had the chance, but it wasnt' to be.  Good luck and so happy for you!

thanks!!!!!!!!!!

I'll probably tx another year....but will maybe taper off like HR suggests over the last 2-3 months of that....so my INF has time to come back on line.

Since most relaspe is in the first 3 months, it makes sense that maybe the body is left unprotected during that phase.....
anyway, makes more sense to me.....See HR FILES....on tapering INF.

emmet b. keefe---cheif of hepatology at stanford....as you know benner hails from stanford..so I guess after they talked Benner got interested.....that up's everyone chances here in PDX.  Although the down side is, he said he can't really write a letter convincing insurance to cover it...since Phase 3 won't be done for 2 years....and since I am starting on it mid-treatment...which is not protocol....still there's no harm as sisdes are usually minimal, and he finally agreed.....even the lowest stat was a 25% SVR over an 8% when it came to relaspe......and a 36% improvement at the high end.

So even if 1 a's only get a 10 percent better chance....60% vs. 50% still sounds like better odds.
Anyway, don't know if I'll end up getting it covered but we will see.
