Victrelis (i.e. Boceprevir) mentioned on NBC news tonight

I was very happy to hear this news blip on NBC news tonight (Wed. 6:30-7:00 EST).  They mentioned the 'new drug' that will probably be FDA approved.  They said, a 70% chance of cure over the current 30% with the SOC, in the hard to treat patients, (they didn't use these exact words verbatim..., but close to it).  I was actually expecting them to say Telaprevir since everybody seems to be so gung ho on Telap. right now.  But, they didn't.  They said Victrelis (which is really the former Boceprevir).  I was very happy, because this is the drug that I'm hoping to be able to get my hands on..., a some point in the next 8 mon., (hopefully).   Nice to see it getting some positive press in a major news network.

CNN did a good job with their reporting of boceprevir last night as well. It was cool to see this on CNN. Two reports on boceprevir came out in this weeks issue of the New England Journal of Medicine and I think that is partially why it is getting some air time. Good luck Susan. This just may be your drug!! I sure hope so.

Ya I saw that too...Unless you go to the forums,you dont know anything about it.I think that hep c needs more airtime though.....Theres alot of people that dont know diddly-squat about the disease.Maybe more people would get tested  IDK?????

Also BOC seems to be effective against geno 2 & 3 according to a new small study.
Previously it was thought to be ineffective for geno 3.
No data available regarding geno 4...
