Hi Cando-
Thanks for letting me know about Melvyn. I am doing great and I hope you are well also.
Good luck with your treatment Melvyn.
Happy new year all!
Hi dave, Melvyn is already into tx. Hope all is well with you.
Boceprevir-treated patients who achieved undetectable HCV RNA at treatment Week 8 had a high probability of achieving SVR; indeed, these SVR rates were 89% to 91% for nonblack patients and 78% to 82% for black patients.

There are a few of us that treated with Vic (boceprevir) that are now SVR, i also found the sides to be much easier then what many here are having with Inc.... If one is und at week 8 and does 28 weeks instead of 24 with the Inc. Myself i would be more then happy doing the extra 4 weeks... Good luck
I treated for 43 weeks in a victrelis trial 4 weeks of SOC and another 39 weeks of triple, I am SVR. I had to treat longer then 28 weeks because I was not und until week 10. Many others in my trial were successful also. Most of them don't post here any longer as they have moved on with their lives.
You also might consider waiting for something better then either vic or incivek at stage 1 unless you are suffering in other ways from this disease, Considering the drugs in development currently, I would at least educate myself about it before making a decision.

Victrellis is a very reputable drug and my understanding is it's the first line defense for tx naive candidates. I may catch some flak for this but the sx's are not as harsh as with incivek either. good luck!
