Viral load questions

Hi everyone, was wondering if high viral load will affect successful tx. My viral load is 7,174,370.  From what I've seen from other viral loads posted, it's very high.  Also, thought I became HIV around 1992. ( needle stick from working e.m.s. Years). But now not too sure.  Read somewhere that tests to determine hep c  came about in early 90's.  I was a regular whole blood donor while working e.m.s. In the 80's.  I feel sick to think I might have infected people for years before test to determine hep c infection was available.  Is that a possibility?  Or am I being misinformed?  I hope I'm getting my question across  without confusion.  I seem to have trouble with that sometimes.  Is it called brain fog??

Your absolutely right.  Have to stay positive throughout this treatment.   Day 5 of tx. An I have to say I'm symptom free except a little fatigue which I started with.  Just gonna focus on being hep free in the future,, thanks Kim

I have to agree with dontworry as you did not intentionally give the virus to anyone.  In fact if you reverse that thought someone gave you the virus also without knowing it.   You can't worry about the past and try to look forward to your new future Hep C free.

Thanks for the info,  soo helpful.  I am truly shocked the numbers that are infected.  But so thankful for these new meds. Solvaldi/ ribasphere so far is a cake walk compared to interferon back in 90's.  I appreciate absolutely everyone sharing info, encouragement.  I truly don't feel alone for once dealing with this.  Thanks again

Viral load has no effect on if you will be successful.  It does tell if your treatment is working or not.  FYI:  that's not  really that high a viral load.  Viral loads go up and down everyday.  You could test next week and get a different number.  It could be lower or higher.  I've seen many posts with much higher viral loads than yours.  They treated and are cured.

Yes testing began in the late 80s early 90s.  You didn't know and I wouldn't
beat yourself up for it.  Hepatitis C has surprised many people.  About five
million in the United States alone.

Best to you
