Viral load range too low

Viral load range too low

Well my last was never responded to but what the hay. I decided to start using the HCV tracker today but it wont take my very first entry, viral load. I am at 4,900,000 back in 11/2006. Now results are due back tmrw and quite sure it is not lower. Your tracker insists on values from 0 (which is too low BTW) to 2,000,000. I have read articles of people way higher than I so I Suggest you fix this. Otherwise this most important variable I will have to track on paper.

A response of SOME sort would be appreciated.

You have to enter the VL as copies/ml, so it would be like 6.4 or something.  I suggest you look at your blood test results b/c usually it will have both your numbers written as millions and then the decimal equivalent.  good luck

I have four tests over ten years and they are all copies/ml with a cut off lower range of 100 now to ~645 back in 1998. So the 6.4 cant be right. Also in my HCV support group we all compare our values and none of us are under 200,000, most in the millions. This is the RNA HCV Viral load test as done by Quest Labs. I get new results next Tuesday and will ask my doctor about this then. Also note if your 6.4 was right that means out of this tracker's range of 0 to 2,000,000, you are at about as low as I can imagine. Get back to me if you get more evidence. Thanks,
D

Yes my 6.4 was a guess.  The blood test I have right in front of me says my VL was
4,440,000 or 6.6, so in my case I think I would enter the 6.6 in that tracker.  Personally I don't use the tracker, but after I looked at it that's the deduction that I came to.  I'll tell you what, maybe someone else will chime in who uses one and help you out.  good luck

They do it per million copies, so if your VL was 4.900.000 you would enter 4.9. If 200.000, you enter .2   if VL is 16.000, it would be .016, etc....

I never used the tracker and it really doesnt matter that much, it is just that I sent Medhelp some feedback and asked for an answer. Instead they emailed me that they turned my feedback into a post here. OK, so now I am here. It is Copies of the viruses (viri ?) per milliliter of sample, right in front of me on my lab results, always has been or they sometime use the Log of that number but my members all use the former. Sorry Marcia but the"per million copies" makes no sense as quoted. Also you must be from Germany or Europe? at least since in the US, 4 million is 4,000,000.00., not 4.000.000,00. I learned that differnce in German class. I think the Tracker is, excuse the pun, on track, but they need to allow much higher numbers than 2,000,000. I think they just slipped up. Like I said I ended up here by accident. The Weight Tracker I do use and except for them using Hips and Waist, not waist and beer belly, it is very good. They must be thinking of a woman's figure, not mine :). Thanks both for the input. I am not here much anymore but get an email if you respond. Good luck getting well.
