Virus Undetectable after 49 Weeks Treatment on Incivek

Got great news yesterday. After treatment with Incivek Pegatron and Interferon, for 48 weeks I've tested virus undetectable. Had HepC since 1975. Genotype 1 (never knew if a or b). Between stage 1 and 2 liver damage. Second try at therapy. Unsuccessful in 1994 when I was a null responder to Pegatron and Interferon.

Seems like a long time to wait, BUT those protocols were different from present meds and that is what was called for.  Time goes by quickly!

Keep us informed.  Pat

I will only be tested after 24 weeks. Now scheduled for the end of May. It's free in Canada due to our Medicare system (love it) so I'm not complaining.
Thanks for the pampering suggestion. I'll see if my wife says that's okay.

Yes, it's the end of treatment test. Still have to wait for the final test, six months from now. I'm optimisticly hoping for a SVR then.

Congratulations!!  When will your 12 and 24 week EOT be?

What a long treatment.  I know you are thrilled to be done with it.  Just remember, you will still be feeling the affects for a while - I am speaking from current experience here - and don't get upset, or think you have relapsed just because you are feeling bad some days, getting those meds out of your system!

Thanks to the wonderful, knowledgeable people on this Forum, I was prepared.  Just wanted to share that info with you.

Now, go do something really special to pamper yourself as a reward!  : -)
