Water... which sort?

I have never been a great water drinker, not liking the taste much. I know I have to drink more now than ever and as I always have a dry mouth it isn't to bad but just wanted to know is mineral water and or soda water acceptable as well or just still water? Cheers

I am on a low sodium diet and really have to watch what I eat and drink. I buy sodium free water and add lemon, lime even a squeeze of a fresh orange. If you worry about being healthy try Propel water. It is very good for you and tastes pretty good too. You could alternate as well. Good luck ~

I asked my dr about electrolytes and he said not to worry. My regular blood tests did not show any changes he was worried about.

I drank mostly water--filtered. I tended to not count juices or seltzer in the 3 quarts per day.

I never was a great water drinker either, and i was able to down no more than 6 to 8 glasses a day without feeling ill from it. Listen to your body, Pegasys is not processed the same way as pegintron so you might not need as much water.  Excess water can cause a mineral imbalance.

I used Gatorade as I was told that too much water by itself would also flush out electolites which are needed.

I've heard that distilled water can leach minerals from the body. Don't know if it's true-Anybody got info?

Drink mostly water, fruit juices, seltzers, sports drinks (such as Gatorade or Power-aid in the powder form, goes father for the money) or milk.
Avoid caffeinated drinks such as coffee, tea, and cola, because they act as dehydrators, pulling water out of your system.
I like to drink herbal teas, there are so many flavors to choose from. I also like decaffeinated Green and white teas.
The type of water I use is distiled, you should be able to get it for .55 a gallon. I have a Brita water filtering pitcher.

Just drink lots of water. To calculate how much water you should drink each day, take your weight and cut in 1/2, this is the minimum amount of Oz's, of water you need to drink.

Albert Szent-Gyorgyi.

The Nobel laureate who discovered vitamin C, calls water the mother and matrix of all life. Water is so much a part of life that we tend to ignore it and look elsewhere for the magic bullet, the secret herb or nutrient that will increase health and vigor and extend life-span.

Recent discoveries about the significance of water and its functions in the living system may forever change our view of water. All the symptoms of aging are in one way or another accompanied by a slow dehydration of our vital tissues associated with free-radical oxidative damage. No matter how much tap water we drink, we cannot seem to slow down the inevitable starvation of vital tissues for the fluid that is everywhere. There is much more to tissue hydration than simply drinking ordinary water. Tissue water is as different from spring water as milk is from apple juice.

You should get all the minerals you need from fresh fruit and vegetables.

Water or a clear fruit juice or a weak decaf iced tea.  Those gatoraids, sports drinks, milk etc contain sugars, modified corn surups and sodium.  And require digestion.

i found that the less work I put my body thru, the more energy to fight the viral infection-hep c.

Milk is a meal.  the fluid doesn't count.  Veggie/fruit juices are not part of the total.  Too much so called sports drinks often leach more nutriants than they provide.  The saying that doing tx is akin to runnin' a marathon is just a metaphore.

Save your money and buy a juicer and juice, juice, juice.  That's a real sports drink.

I've noticed thru the yrs on this board that the ones who just drink the water have less sx's.  The hair and skin and nails aren't so brittle.  The riba rage almost non-existant.  the joints don't ache as much.

Draw your own conclusions!

As to what new sojourn said, I had never thought about it before, but I only drank water, plain old tap water. I had flu like symptoms throughout tx. but no rashes, no rage, and only 1 bad headache. I ate whatever my body told me to. If I craved something (and I often did) I ate it. I've believed for a long time that my cravings are my body's way of letting me know what it needs.  Joni

Any kind of water is fine from what I know. I do echo the thought that you'll be drinking a lot of it. Squeezing lemons or limes in still water was how one friend got her water while she was on chemotherapy. I was thirsty a lot, so it wasn't a problem drinking a lot of water. I started to feel "toxic" when I didn't get enough water, so at that point, I downed a lot. I got a quart water bottle and filled and drank it three times a day, plus whatever else I drank. It was the easiest way to make sure I got enough.

Mineral water is often still. I myself use a filter to take away the chlorine taste of tap water...much cheaper, esp.as you're going to be drinking gallons!
