We are Imbibing Alcohol without drinking....

by illo, May 17, 2007 12:00AM

Interesting book. -  What do you folks think of this?
This isn't verbatim from the book, I just condensed it a bit.  I wonder if this could have anything to do with long term successes and failures of SVR.

Balancing pH and the liver......

This microbiologist that wrote a pH book (mentioned
below), discovered that microforms and mycotoxins, ( bacterias, mold,
fungus & yeast & their waste products ), are the culprits of balancing
pH and preventing diseases.

Microforms ferment sugar creating acid as a byproduct. Acid hampers
digestion, leeches minerals and vitamins and reduces muscle tone among
a myriad of other issues, including allergies.

He found microforms can change in seconds from being a bacteria to being a
fungus to being yeast back to bacteria again. It's like it is its own stem cell
producer and can alter itself to survive. This explains why these pathogens or
microforms are so difficult to get rid of.

Here comes the alcohol part. Take note for anyone with liver issues.

First, these microforms, create mycotoxins which poison the blood, which then
goes to the liver to be detoxified. That added stress distracts the liver from efficiently
metabolizing fat and sugar. This in turn stresses the thyroid and adrenal
glands & pancreas. Fungus and molds easily grow, hampering digestion.
The fungus in the body hampers absorpbtion up to 50% . The fungus growth
in the GI tract will weaken the tissue which can lead to a Haital Hernia.

Acetaldehyde is a mycotoxin that is created from the fermentation of
sugar by the microforms. The mycotoxin creates tiredness and chronic
fatigue because it reduces the absorpbtion of protein & minerals. It also vicious
destroys neurotransmitters and binds to the walls of red blood cells like
molecular glue, making them less flexible and less able to get into and
through capillaries leading to starvation and oxygen depravation in the tissues.

THEN, THE LIVER CONVERTS ACETALDEHYDE INTO ALCOHOL.
That process depletes the body of magnesium, sulphur, hydrogen and potassium,
thus reducing cell energy. (All high glycemic foods, wheat, yeast, vinegars,
any sugars except stevia, will turn into alcohol if the body is acidic)

The alcohol produced has untold negative effects. The less oxygen in the
body, the more alcohol is produced which can have devastating effects for
people with liver disease. Brain fog & dizziness, chronic illnesses are other
side effects. This is the vicious cycle.

Taking oxygen, minerals or supplements alone doesn't help. For the
oxygen, etc, to be absorbed, a body must first be alkaline & mold, fungus
or Candida free.

Microforms cannot grow in the presence of an alkaline, oxygenated body.

i posted about the importance of proper ph balance awhile back. a doctor that researches hepatitis use to visit these forums said that having a slightly acidic body was not all that bad. i still think a proper ph is much healthier from what i have read. you hit on some of these points. how does the book you refer to say the best way to increase your ph? thanks for the info

I thought that Acetaldehyde is the first metabolite of Alcohol (Ethanol) produced by liver.  Acetaldehyde causes "hangover".  Healthy liver of approximately 180 lb person able to neutralize only 30 g of alcohol in 1 hr (~1 oz).  If somebody weight 90 lbs, they will get intoxicated by 0.5 oz of 80% proof alcohol. All alcohol that not metabolized by liver timely will cause "drunken" effect.

Thank you for sharing this information.  I believe that presence of oxygen affects a metabolic pathway. Also, I agree with Hepatitis Researcher that slightly acidic state (<7 pH) is beneficial to maintain balanced bacterial levels in the body.  Let bacteria do the rest of the job maintaining appropriate levels of yeast, etc.

Thank you, illo.  I may order this book, sounds very intriguing.

All the best!!

i really think it relates a lot to what i was experiencing at tx end.  i felt that there was something wrong with me went to several specialists, allergy thought i was getting "asthma" something wrong coughing spasms, sticky in throat, an other doctor appt. proved in effective took throat culture but no results. i was really distressed.  gargling h202 hydrogen peroxide, and alternate salt water.

still had throat stuff one doc brought up the gerd issue again (from 14 mths ago) said not asthma.

i remembered what i had done last time dx w/gerd before tx.  used apple cider vinegar w/mother from health food store $2.oo bottle.inexpensive couldn't hurt to try. not wanting to go to health food store i currently use regular store brand apple cider vinegar, though the other is better.  it clears the mucus from sinuses, throat, and the gerd symptoms relief almost immediately. completely gone in several .i do 1 tsp to sometimes 2 tablespoon in 8 oz h20.  works. currenlty my urine analysis after several weeks of this (intermittantly) is 5.0. in the normal range toward acidic.  use only occassionally now.

now looking into benefit of food grade hydrogen peroxide and the healing properties of this. google if interested in reading more. i think i look at earthclinic website but their are others.  if anyone is familar with natural uses for food grade hydrogne peroxide, and knows how to locate suppliers i would appreciate. i was hoping to find someone local distributor in orange county
Ca. still checking on my own.

i am greatful for my recovery, but after all these meds i am now on a mission to a more natural way to bring balance to my health.

How did you get to be so smart? Really, I'm impressed with that answer.

All - Glad you liked the article.  I myself found it fascinating. I'm guessing the HCV might make us more acidic?  But I really don't know. I really can't venture a guess.

copyman-It's mostly by diet.  The candida was a tough one for me.  Minimalist for 11 weeks and undecenoic acid for 8 weeks.  Worked like a charm, though and worth every minute.  I had a sinus infection for 5 years, and surgery somewhere inbetween.  Nothing helped until I did the candida diet.

This link is for the candida diet  -best I've found:

I don't worry about things like this because well I know in the course of my life I"ve probably eaten POUNDS of bugs and stuff by accident.....

Have a great weekend guys - going home to a house with no power thanks to Wednesdays tornadoes (yeah rare in NY suburbs)...grrrrr.  Time to catch up on my reading/sleeping.
