I got my week 1 results:
(SOC...pegylated interferon and riba)
HCV: 8M to 41K
ALT: 203 to 77
AST: 170 to 57
WBC: 3.9 to 3.2
HGB: 15.0 to 14.1
PLT: 82 to 56
So, good news and some not so good news on the platelets. I guess we will cut back on the interferon next week (once I'm below 50 which no doubt I will be), and they seem to think it will stabilize. They were very positive, said they've seen this hundreds of times, expected it, kept reminding me I was genotype 2, and said one way or another they were going to get "it".
A 2.3 log drop on SOC is a great result for one week.
.All looks good and plats have not dropped considerably ,however being relatively low at baseline would be reasoning for keeping a close eye on them.
Yes, nice response at one week. As mentioned, maybe the platelets will stabilize so you don't have to do an interferon dose reduction. Perhaps your team will take a wait and see approach. Best of luck for a UND very soon and keep us posted.
