Week 7: Half way done with Telepravir!!

What a week..  from a 5am trip to the ER to stop a bloody nose, to getting prescribed Doxycycline for bronchitis and occasional fever..  general feeling like poop.. but the upside is the cough is diminishing, I am keeping vaseline in my nose (Minnesota in the winter is VERY dry) and my platelet count is up to 48K..  so continuing the 90mcg dose of interferon, and enjoying the prospect of counting down until the telepravir drops off!

Keep the faith everyone and have a great week!

Thanks all, congrats Gene! Stay positive!

Stormy, I couldn't plan a sandwich for lunch much less a surprise party!!!  I am amazed. I have to say, I have a special prayer for the caregivers in this group, and an extra special one for people having to do this without someone. If not for my wife, I would be done already.

You are all truly special..

Getting past the halfway point is huge - hang in there, it was a little touch and go there for a while, so glad you were able to continue treatment.  Sorry about the bloody knows and bronchitis.  Quick story about brain fog- husband planned a beautiful surprise birthday party for me last night, which was completely amazing considering how he's feeling.  The problem?  He forgot to invite my best friend of 25 years who lives down the street.  So I showed up and asked "where's Shawn" and he turned white as a ghost.  Definitely not firing on all cylinders, but hanging in there!

Congratulations! I can totally appreciate the telaprevir countdown! I just started week 5 myself so I am one third of the way through. I am waking each morning with a bloody nose. It's worse after interferon on Fridays. Gave up and used Vaseline myself early this morning as saline spray only seemed to make it worse!
And glad to know that there is an option of I develop bronchitis from my seasonal allergies.
Hang in there stallion!
