Most people I know who've treated experienced hair thinning and weight loss - the hair comes back as does the weight, generally. Mike

I also developed an autoimmune disease when I was on treatment so I lost about 75% of my hair (it thinned out, dried up, cracked off yuck) but bought really cools wigs to wear that were better than my original hair.  My hair post treatment is growing like a WEED like it never grew before ever!

I first lost 20 pounds and was emaciated (but also partly cause of the hyper thyroid) then when my thyroid turned around (like they most often do) to hypo I gainned it all back PLUS some!

Nobody can know what will happen to you though.  It's really a gamble - some people lose a lot (of either) some people lose none - some people gain...you just can't know until you experience whatever will be, it just will be.

I lost about 50% of my hair and lost weight!  The good thing is that you can eat anything you like and still lose or at least for most people!  No one noticed my hair loss except family members that were looking for it but I sure could tell the difference in winter time,,,,,my head would get so much colder since my hair got so thin lol

On this hair topic.    My hair usually would start falling out around the 5 mon. of treating (in the past).   But, the weird thing is, ever since my last treatment, my leg hair has not been growing.  I used to have to shave legs once a week and now, it's really needing shaved at all.  Maybe a few once every 3 mon. or so, but that's it.   Same with my underarms.   I don't know if that's normal, or not, but I certainly don't mind not having to shave!

Hi, I am on wk 37/48. I too have lost about 60% of my hair and a lot of weight. The only thing that grows are my eye lashes. I lost a lot of weight too. If you are planning to tx this is the place to ask questions. You will find a lot of support from good people here. I wish you the best - merlino

lost weight - gained weight - lost weight gained weight... gaining again.

Lost hair like mad... Had to call roto ruter... LOL!

But on the plus side - llama lashes --- nice mustache (for a girl) and gnarly goat hairs on the chin that keep me occupied on those nights I have insomnia.

Never noticed the nether regions --- I just stopped looking down after 35.

LMAO!

Can't see past the Boulders on the highway.

Have a lovely day - buy wigs - invest in tweezers --- purchase stretchies.

Life is grand.

Meki

pre treatment weight was 126/127; I am in to week #22 (out of 24); weight now  116.   I have noticed that my hair is shedding MUCH more than ever and normal.  It started around week 19 or 20.   I have lots of hair, but I notice that I'm letting go of it more than normal.

pre tx was 135... first round went down to 86 lbs

second round maintained between 135 & 142..

Errr.. 8 mos post tx... I got up to a whopping 180

15 mo post tx Still Struggling at 168 can't loose no matter how restricted

Hair... pre tx... used to be thick with lots of body.... couldn't even reach my fingers all the way around it to make a pony tail (about the size of a silver dollar).. during TX... it went straight, flat... & was soo thin... a pony tail was the circumference of a dime... it back to about the size of a quarter now....

The stylest says I have plenty of hair... it just changed texture & is now baby fine.... It went mega gray on me too

;)
