What does this mean?

Does anyone know what 43-69,000,000 IU/ML means?  Doctor says I have Hepc 1a.  Is this my virol load? Have an appt in 2 weeks with a specialist and just trying to understand as much as I can before I go. Also what is Value 5237276?

Yes, it is in the lower range of a lot... but don't worry about that because it has nothing to do with how much damage has occurred... just how active those little dragons are. The next step it to get a biopsy to see how much damage there is, and then talk with the doc about treatment... either now, or wait for the new drugs next year... depending on what the biopsy shows.

Good luck!

What you seem to have had was a Qualatative viral load test with a reflex to Quantative viral load.  What that means is that the doc ordered a test to see if any Hep virus buggers could be found.  There were, and the estimated number of them was somewhere between 43 and 69 million (but I really think it was more like 43 and 7 million).  The next step of the test to count them if there were any found.  The count came back as 5,237,276 (which is in the lower range of a lot)
