There can be many causes of elevated Alkaline Phosphatase. To determine whether the AP elevation is liver related doctors look for an elevation in GGT. If GGT and AP are both elevated it points to a liver or bile duct problem. If serum bilirubin is also elevated then a bile duct problem is more likely - bile duct obstruction or restriction.
The normal range on my labs is 20 - 140 IU/L and I don't know whether different labs have different reference ranges but 20 to 140 IU/L should be in the ballpark.
The treatment of AP elevation depends on the cause. A follow up with a doctor - maybe with a gastro of hepatologist - would be the place to start.
