What kind of pain medications do hepatitis Dr.s recommend for back and joint pai

Hi there. I have been on Pegasus and Copegus for 7 weeks now and am experiencing neck...back and joint pain. What kind of medications do your Hepatitis Dr. recommend for this? Any advice would be helpful. They have given me Darvon and Tramadol and I can't seem to tolerate either one.
Thanks.

Hi,
I asked my doctor about over the counter pain pills, he said to take advil and moltrin.  Do not take tyl. it processes thru the liver...check with your doctor before taking it.  I took tyl pm for 10 years and that might have hurt my liver.  I was not a iv user and did not have a tranfusion...

I would also like to Thank everyone, for giving me hope.  I just find out last week i had Hep C....felt doomed....again thank you so very much to everyone

Hi, I just find out I have Hep C.  I asked my doctor about over the counter pain pills and he told me advil and moltrin, and not at all take tyl. PM at all because it has to be processed thru the liver and advil and moltrin is processed thru the kidney.  Please Please check with your doctor before taking anymore.  We all have to be careful in what we take so it does not hurt our liver anymore then it is.....Thanks

I tried the chiropractor and it only helped for a little while that day, by the next day I was hurting again. I was given a prescription for vicodin. I was allowed to take up to 12 extra strength a week for the whole 72 weeks. Some weeks I didn't need that many but I stil had them in case. My hepatologist couldn't write the script though so he had me get them for my PCP. Also I nice soak in the hot tub did wonders. But hot baths and hot showers can dehydrate you so make sure that you drink extra water. I know your pain all to well and pray that you find some relief soon.

Yes I must admitt, I went to chiropractor because I had constant shoulder pain and got total relife, but the pain started coming back couple of weeks after I ended the sessions! (I went two months 3 times a week $30 a pop, but it was worth it for a good night sleep!)

jt,
Have you considered a chiropractor? I don't subscribe to the school that says they'll cure whatever ails you, but when it comes to specific neck, back, and shoulder pain, I've had excellent results. I have a guy who'll allow me to call about an hour ahead for an appointment. I'm not treating my HepC yet, but when I get back pain I make a couple trips to the chiro for a quick adjustment and it helps alot. Good luck.

I just started treatment on the 12th and have so far done well although it seems my weak points in my body such as lower back are starting to take a hit.  I try to tolerate it during the day and at bedtime take 1 tylenol pm & 1 tylenol 8 hour, that seems to really help.  Prior to treatment, I used to get REALLY DOWN on my lower back and the water treatment (drinking lots) had really helped along with know my limitations.  Just hope I don't get major back pain that I have experienced before cause then I too will be seeking relief just as you are.  When I was REALLY bad though before treatment Vicoden 500mg along w/ a Phenegran (for puking) worked for me.

Hope you find relief and good luck to ya!
