Hello, Naveed--It sounds as though you might results from an antibody test. If so, this suggests exposure at some time in the past. Additional testing will be required for confirmation of active infection. Does the test language include the words HCV antibody test, or ELISA or EIA?

The confirmation test is called ‘HCV RNA by PCR’; the results of this test will tell you if active virus is present.

Good luck and welcome to the discussion group—

Bill

Hi, That high # on your antibodies test  confirms that you have been exposed to the Hepatitis C virus. Unfortunately only 5% of those tests are wrong or false positives. Hopefully your PCR test will come back "undetectable" which means your body fought off the virus and you have just antibodies.

best of luck
