What the means of this report ?

Last week I made a test for Hepatitis B and C and the result is as following
Could any friend help and tell me in simple ways for status of my health ?????

I cannot comment on the Hep B test; I am not familiar with that disease.

The Hep C (HCV) test suggests exposure to virus at some point, and will require further testing and evaluation.

The test your doctor will order is the ‘HCV RNA by PCR’ test; this is necessary to confirm active, RNA infection.

i think you are negative for hepatitis B virus but i am not very sure , but unfortunately you are positive for hepatitis C antibodies,which means the virus did existed in your blood and may still be there , like Bill said you need confirmatory test which is PCR TEST qualitative or quantitative.

Friends as per your advice I made a test **** HVC RNA (quantitative) by PCR ****. The result value is as per following:

Kindly advice the status of my health in details as per the above mentioned result.

It appears you are indeed positive for active infection, based on the test results you report. You will want to confirm this with your doctor, of course.

HCV infection might eventually require treatment; the best way to determine urgency for treatment is a liver biopsy. If little scarring (fibrosis) is present, treatment might be optional.

The next advisable test is the ‘HCV genotype’ test; this determines the ‘genotype’, or particular strain of virus. Genotype 1 is the most prevalent in North America; but also the least responsive to therapy. Genotype 2 and 3 are less common here, but require shorter treatment periods. Genotype 4 is prevalent in Egypt, and some Middle Eastern countries.

Your viral load is reported as 2.85x10^5 HCV RNA IU/mL. This can be also be expressed as 285,000 IU/mL, or LOG 5.45.

This is considered relatively low, and might respond more readily to treatment drugs than a higher viral load; however, it’s important to note that viral load does not necessarily correlate with disease severity or progression.

As per your advice I made the Genotype test and the result shows ' Genotype 5 '.

Please tell me about its kind, seriousness, treatment and treatment period as you have described about genotype 2 , 3 and 4.
