What will the quantitaive test really tell?

The final stretch is coming up with hopefully only 12 weeks or so to go.
I am a 1a stage 1 and have been on TX since Dec. 1. What a ride it has been.
I now know what it’s like to be really sick. But I can see light at the end of the tunnel
and hope to beat this monster. Other blood tests have come back undetectable.
What is the difference with this quantitative test that makes it special?

There is nothing "special" about a quantitative test, other than it measures viral load. What you need at this point is a *sensitive* viral load test, be it quantitative or qualitative.

I assume you have already tested undetectible viral load earlier in treatment. If so, you want either a very sensitive quantitative test like "Heptimax" from Quest Diagnositcs or a very sensitive qualitative test like Quest's "HCV RNA QUALITATIVE TMA". LabCorp also has some very sensitive tests. The thread "merrybe" refers to is interesting discussion but could be confusing as some of these tests can be if you're not familiar.
