When to start peginterferon therapy

I'm a male, 55 y old, Do not suffer symptoms of any chronic diseases, but I have essential hypertention, BP controlled with relevant drugsm. I've Got HCV while abroad, genotype 4, PCR count 430'000 IU/ml, would u advice me to start antiviral therapy now, and which type of IFN should I have?

It depends on several things which require some research; the condition of your liver, your insurance situation, whether it makes sense (effectiveness) to wait for new drugs, your overall medical condition, work situation, family situation and so on... A lot of stuff does into making an informed decision on an important matter.

I am a geno 4 myself currently on tx. Welcome to the forum.
There is no new medication for geno 4 in the immediate future.
But depending on where you are located you might be able to
add a drug called Alinia to the treatment.
Being 55 years old and geno4 it might be a good idea to start
treatment soon.

ive read that alinia when combined with peg/riba greatly increases the chance for svr in genotype 4
