Hi, I understand you can feel like you are asking stupid questions and that people someway get annoyed with them. I have asked what was a stupid question here myself and was made a little fun of. I didnt like it. Now i just try to find the humor in it. Thinking back I probably knew the answer if I used some common sense but some times we just dont use common sense and have a hard time processing the answers given. Dont apologize. People dont have to answer you if they think your asking waste of time questions. Or that you dont have anything better to do than to annoy people on forums. I would hate for you to feel unwelcome and be afraid to come back if you needed to. That is what this forum is for. Maybe this experience will be a wake up call in risky behavior that could get you into some trouble. Consider your self fortunate that you did not get HCV or HIV this time. You must need some more reassurance. Things sometimes in this world are bad enough with innocent ways of getting exposed to things without bringing the virus wrath down on your own self. When a lot of us got this, it was years before they knew what it was. Most everyone knows now that there are a lot of deadly viruses you can get from unprotected casual sex , foolish drug use.. Just rusky behavior in general. take care of youself. If you still are worried about this last incident , wait a few more months, dont expose anyone else and get tested again.
Uh huh......I'm not getting played.
Regardless if I contracted HIV at the same time? Which I don't believe I did because negative results for both out to 6 months. I have read that concurrent infections of both can delay antibodies out to 12 months. This will be my last question I promise.
Time to party and stop worrying. good luck
A six month neg for hep C puts you in the 'stop worrying, stop testing' category.
K. Thanks for the input. Sorry if I offended any of you. No I do not want it of course but just wanted some info from some people more educated on the subject than I am. I just had some concerns I wanted to address. My main concern was Hiv coinfection which can delay antibody tests. I know symptoms are not a way to diagnose it and that only tests are. I will move on from this with my negative results if my body allows me too. Once again thank you and sorry. Happy holidays
Protected sex...why would you think you even have it if you had protected sex?
It looks to me that you have other things to worry about because you don't have hepc.
If you want to have it there are easier more productive ways to get it - but we keep telling you if you have been tested and it tested negative then no you don't have it.
"Should I forget about Hepatitis C and move on or be concerned?"
MOVE ON
If damage had occurred then would hcv shown up on the elisa at 6 months or the liver fuction test at 5? I also have a few red pinpoint dots on my chest what I feel are petechiae. I had a cbc at 5 months but it was normal however I didnt have these spots then. My "exposure" was protected sex but I cut myself shaving afterwards. I read hcv can live outside the body for quite some time. I tested negative for all std's so that ruled those out. Does blood have to be visibly present from the host?
HepC doesn't really cause a pain in your upper right quadrant especially after only five months. You wouldn't be experiencing anything until a lot of damage had occurred.
If you already tested negative forget about it. Or retest if you can't let it go.
If nothing has showed up yet, I wouldn't worry about it.
