Will HCV antibody disappear

Hi folks,
I achieved SVR in 1998 and I am still negative on a PCR test.
I also did a HCV antibody test last year and my doc said it was

Mostly, doctors look for two types of antibodies known as immunoglobulins.  The two most commonly used are IgG, and IgM.  Whenever you're infected with a virus, you will test positive for IgG for life.  Right now, your doctor can tell if you had measles when you were a kid, because you'd still test IgG positive for measles.  You will always test IgG positive for HCV.

IgM shows current or recent infection.  When you clear a virus, it may take some time for your IgM to return to zero.  Looks like yours is heading in that direction.  This is information about viruses in general.  Immunity tests can get really complex. The main thing is that you are undetectable for HCV RNA, with is the virus itself.

In some cases, after MANY years, (several decades) the Hcv antibody disappears.

Most keep the antibody for the rest of their life.
