Worried

Sorry for all the questions guys, but I have an appointment Friday and will hopefully get some answers, however I have a question about waiting to treat.  If i cannot get into a trial or some help with tx for a while (maybe a year or two even) how likely is it that this virus will progress?  i know it typically takes decades to do any major damage, but does it ever work super fast in a matter of months or just a couple years? I am scared for my health..

also one other point (sorry guys my head is swirling :( ) if tx did not work for me this time around, is there still any hope a few years down the road? Can we assume 5-10 years from now there will be even more options with an even higher svr rate?

I think there is much more to come in the treatment of this disease. Yes hepatitis is a long progressive disease, but if you can treat now the chances of svr are very good now. And if you can cure this in 6 months that would benefit you. Do you know how long you've had it? Or did you have any biopsy to check liver damage? Good luck. Joe

i had a negative hep c test less than a year ago, and have made a few dumb mistakes since then, so its definitely less than a year.. have not had a biopsy , probably won't have one due to the short timeframe i have had it.

Hey there.  First off, take a deep breath.  Now exhale through your mouth. Breathe in again, thru the nose and exhale out the mouth slowly.  Now that u have mellowed know that tjis is how ya gotta do it with hep c. Panic gets ya no where fast. It's a long drawn out process thatxwe ALL have been thru together. :).
Negative tests are nit always negative. Sometimes they are false negatives. Or your ostive is a false positive. Has your Dr done a full RNA??  Or An IL 28b gene test???  There are many levels of testing and if your bloods do prove Hep C positive with a Viral Load you might want to get a biopsy to see if inflamtionor more damage has been done. Delay is NOT our friend. Many of us waited too long, didn't listen, did stupid things, didn't think and just  plain ignored the signs and our selves in denial. Others had unfortunate circumstances. It all is the same in the end. Be proactive. Get informed. Thete is a ton of knowledge here. Use it. Use us. Love yourself. Don't wait. You have your whole life to live in freedom of yourself and a chance to be healthy if positive. Don't worry bout the what if's. Just believe. We do. Blessings of healing and love my friend.

thats lifenet, i really appreciate it.. i do not know my gene at this moment, the doctor called and told me it was confirmed on monday, so i guess an RNA was done.. I just want to start tx and get rid of this asap. I know I have had it less than a year based on tests, and risky behaviour. I am going through good and bad moments, sometimes i feel strong others i ask why i am so stupid to end up in this situation.. How are you lifenet? have you gone through tx and how has that been for you if so?

Still haven't seen anything to indicate you have chronic Hep C.  No viral load, no genotype yet.  It's possible your doctor repeated an antibody test.  My doctor did the same thing, thinking that that's all that was required to test for Hep C.  Then I found out there's another test yet to be done that tests for presence of viral load and only if you have viral load, you have Hep C.  If not, you have antibodies only.  I would be calling your doctor immediately and asking EXACTLY what test he ran.  Did he run an antibody test or a PCR that tests for viral load and if he got a PCR, he should be able to tell you what the results are for viral load.
