If timelines are true, the Hep  C 1A caught me, about 22 years ago.. along with birth of my daughter in "89 and other things the time just seemed a match....As we all know this is asymtomatic and i was quite a lush during those years that followed, even ofter I knew.   You quessed it my body said "No More"....we'll haven't drank in so long i don't even remember.....but my gastro, lets say his hands are in the air. Said, I was a mircale, my liver is working like nothing ever happened.... i have never been on treatment....now i want to know if maybe down deep in side i may beable to help others.....I never thought i would make plans for the future.....I Can Breath!!!!!

Well done, am glad your news is good. Your liver has survived well despite some punishment, do you still have the virus ? What did your gastro say about your status ?

You are going to need to explain something because I don't understand.  In previous posts you said that you have stage 4 cirrhosis and that you have ascites.  You also say that you are a miracle because your liver is working like nothing happened.  How did the doctor arrive at ascites and cirrhosis in the first place?  And, how does he know that your liver is working like nothing happened now?  I read a little disconnect here.

I have never herad of anyone going from cirrhosis to stage 0 without the virus - let alone someone with the virus. It must truly be a real miracle to have happened.........that is bigger than winning the zillion dollar lotto the odds are so slim.

i thought i was one nail short of a coffin. gastro doesn't know what to say, and he'd very good, now still waiting for vl but all test show "normal" we'll see in 3 months but it's been 2 and all is "normal"

How did earlier arrive at cirrhosis?  Was it a biopsy or a guess? Same for ascites?  I can understand a guess for cirrhosis but ascites can be almost conclusively determined by a visual and palpating?  If this is all the same doc I'd check the license on the wall.

Can you explain what exactly is normal? The liver panel? ALT/AST?

You also said in the past that you had fluid tapped out of your abdomen and took spironolactone and lactulose. If you really had ascitis, there is no way it could just go away. Or did your gastro made a mistake with this? I agree with FGuy, if your doctor makes this kind of mistake you should run from his office and never return.

How was your cirrhosis diagnosed? And who diagnosed it?

How could the damage reverse if you were drinking heaps of alchohol.
