a little bit worried?

a little bit worried?

I have a 39 year old wife, she has has HCV1a  since she was a teen for as long as i have known her she has been drinking anywhere from 2-6 glasses of wine per night (except during pregnancy), I have tried to talk to her on many occasions but she does not talk to me about her hcv and she flatly refuses treatment of any kind.
What Im concerned about is the fact that of late she has become very tires, she bruises exceptionally easily, right now she has what appears to be atleast 10-13 bruises on her legs (one the size of her hand) I asked her where she got them she said, she does not know (perhaps playing with the kids, but I play with the kids also and I do not bruise like that). Her skin is very pale.

recently she was in bed for a day and when she came out she could hardly walk, she is on Cyklokapron and ponstan, recently she got a perscription for Temazepam (she has not had any of these yet).
She has had a specialist see her and she has done tests, she has also seen another specialist and she has PCOS and endometriosis (thick wall) again she refuses any treatment on that also.

She has been having headaches off and on, but also ear aches which she can not explain.

for almost 2 weeks she stopped drinking, but has over the last couple of days, started again.

All of this might just seem pointless for most of you, but im a husband who is after answers for my own knowledge (as my wife does not talk about her health) I would appreciate your help

It's not hard to connect the unexplained bruising to liver damage.  Excessive bruising is a sign of low platelets, very common with severe liver damage.  The other things may be just coincidental health issues and not related at all, but the bruising is a pretty good tip-off.  She may want to also inspect her skin for petechiae, little strawberry marks that are another sign of low platelets.

Since you posted on this forum, I'm guessing you'd like to see something alarmist to show her and convince her to take action. I believe you have that with the bruising/low platelet/liver damage evidence.  Google 'bruising' and follow the links to low platelet production and cirrhosis of the liver.  Those things sent me to the doctor's office and treatment for HCV and now, 17 months later, I am well and all those worries are behind me.

Should she also be taking up to 2-3 Nurofen tablets per night?, she has stopped drinking a bit but still takes the tablets. Is this bad for her?
