i had horrible neck, back and side pain - tylonal would help for maybe 2 hours and early on heat pads helped - but after 2 months my body was totally knotted - which fed upon itself to the point of hardly being able to walk - the pain made me unable to sleep which again made me spiral down. I saw the accupunture suggestion on the va hep site and found a local guy - i just had my third treatment and the results are amazing - along with the reduction of pain my fatique, mood and ability to sleep has greatly improved. The night after first visit the pain increased but subsided the next day -he warned me about this - by the third visit i'm actually functioning and sometimes even smile again! - not cheap - the first visit was $145 and the subsequent visits $75 and i don't think any insurance covers it - i had first gone to my gp: he x-rayed me, said nothing was broken and let me hobble out and i was considering stopping tx until i tried the accupuncture
hope this helps
You might want to check into your insurance. I know the system is different in the US, but here in DK my private insurance covers part of the cost, if the acupuncture is performed by acupuncturist who is a medical doctor.

he does use disposable needles and of course knows of my hep c for his own safety
I'm on medicare and here in the usa its not covered - thanks mostly to the AMA - medical doctors here do not practice acupuncture and are hostile to what they see as competition
