Hiya and congratulations on the completion of your treatment.Like Hector said get you bloods done on week 12 it will save you fretting my hubby did 24wk triple tx with incivek he was UND at wk 4 and stayed that way, so onwards&upwards to the golden badge of SVR !! Don't worry about the hair loss, hubby lost almost half of his& it grew back  alot thicker& stronger, and please remember that it can take up to 6mths for the riba to get out of your system. Please let us know how you get on with your results fingers crossed for the SVR. luv Jules

Hi
Viral load doesn't really mean much except you do have the virus. When you said hep c 1 do you mean hep c genotype 1? I realized after I posted you were treatment naive so you don't have a previous treatment history. Many of us here have treated and not responded to the old treatments that were previously available.

I do not know what you mean by 4.5 on your liver test. Is that a fibroscan score? I have only had liver biopsies last one in January 08 said I had liver cirrhosis which is a fibrosis score of 4 (F4) which is as high as that scale goes. Have you ever had a liver biopsy? What did your doctor say about the health of your liver? Is it still functioning ok or do you have cirrhosis?

Anyway wishing you the best results from your treatment
Good luck
Lynn

"Methods: Sofosbuvir has been explored in more than 500 patients,
with and without ribavirin (RBV), or with peginterferon (PEG)+RBV
in the phase 2 studies PROTON, ELECTRON, ATOMIC, and QUANTUM.
In these studies, HCV RNA was measured at least at 4, 12, and
24 weeks following the end of treatment. We assessed the
concordance of sustained virologic response (SVR) at these time
points."

Results:
"High levels of concordance between SVR4 and later time points were observed. There were few relapses in patients who achieved SVR4. Positive predictive values and sensitivity of SVR4 for SVR12 and SVR24 were >98.5%. SVR12 has a 99.8% positive predictive value, demonstrating the reliability of this time point for assessing a durable response."

Get tested at week 12 after you stopped treatment and confirm that you are definitely cured. It is a simple blood test well worth the peace of mind. Even though the odds are low that you are not cured you don't want to be unknowingly infected with the virus and having further liver damage done.

Good luck.
Hector

Hi

Your chances of being undetectable depend on your prior treatment history and result of that treatment for example, non responder, relapsed, etc., your genotype of hep c 1a, 1c, 2a, 2b. The condition of your liver how much damage you have do you have cirrhosis or not. Those are all factors is looking up how likely the treatment worked for you.

Also just to let you know there are new treatments coming later this year that are interferon free and have very good success so even if you prior treatment did not work you could still do the new ones and get cured

Good luck

K:  You sound like you are EOT UND @ 4 wks.  depending on how long and what meds you treated on some would say EOT UND 12 wks - your Oct Labs - would be SVR, but it sounds like your Dr is going for 24 wk UND for SVR.

Please understand I am not a healthcare professional, and don't even have all your info or specifics - just saying how it appears to me.  Pat
