I also went to my GP today. I starting having swelling in knees, calves, feet and hands last Thursday. He put me on 2 water pills a day (lasix) and a potassium pill once a day. He says as soon as pain is gone to stop those meds.
Also went to my shrink today. I felt like my nerve pills weren't working like they used too. So instead of trying new nerve pills, she just added one more a day. She says I have way too much on my plate, w/ 2nd Mother having cancer and having been given maybe 12 months to live.
Also on Father's Day, we went to my parents and I found out my Daddy had another mini-sroke...well 2 actually....one on Fri and one on Sat. He looks very bad. Weak, had a hard time w/ speaking and has lost down to 145lbs. So I really do have a lot on my plate.
Also found out my good daughter is facing 4 to 6 months for that stupid trafficing coke charge she got laid on her! She just dropped a g.friend off @ a moblie home and later went back to pick her up. Never got out of the car, and had never been there before!!!! When she returned to pick up friend...place was crawling w/ police!
So I think my shrink is right....my plate is running over! Hope this post finds all my hep c family doing as good as possible, and w/ little sx.
Please keep us in your prayers. Thank you all, and you all are in my prayers always, Cindee
It's great to see your biopsy results. They are the same as mine. You can't get much better, huh?
I'll be saying a prayer for your dad and your daughter. I hope it all settles down a bit for you.
it's so nice to see from you...
that is a great reason to celabrate...
Meanwhile,,,please think about Cindee for time being and get your nerves,,,etc straightened out! You won't be able to deal with the rest if you are down with everyone else. Its amazing at times how things work themselves out with rest of family at times when you are unable to. Meanwhile,,,I'm still thinking about that great biopsy news!! Way to go!! I know,,,you are celebrating and probably as I speak ordering something special for yourself from QVC!! Love you!! Honey
I dare say it again....women are much more capable of dealing with difficult situations then men....
We men are capable of drowning in a glass of water...
YIKES
Congratulations on your bx....
And of course .... our prayers are with you.... Edgar

I did go to Duke, but was told there I needed to treat again. I had heard of Dr.Reindollar, my new "Dr.Wonderful". So I called him as soon as we got out of the parking deck @ Duke. His staff told me he also does clinical trials, so we "hooked" up!!!!
He is a hepatologist and a wonderful one @ that! He works w/ doctors @ Duke w/ clinical trials. His office is in Charlotte, N.C. only 35mins or so away from my home...oppossed to Duke being 3 and 1/2 hours away!
So I will start trial study in 4 to 6 months...earlier I pray! You see I didn't know very much @ all when I jumped into tx and I didn't find out what a "goof" I had as a doctor until I read things here.
I didn't find this wonderful forum and all you beautiful ppl until I was almost done w/ 48wks of combo. I used to be AlmostDone2 here on the forum.
I am blessed that God has lead me in many right directions (first this great forum and now my new doctor). You all have been such an inspiritation, and have taught me so much.
I will keep you all informed as my quest in fighting this horrible disease continues. I pray to not only help myself, but to also help many others, who like me...were EVR, and continued to be undectable thoughout the 48wks. and when I finished 100% of tx.
I found @ 4 months post tx. I had relapsed...and wanna know HOW I found out and why I call my 1st doctor "dr.goofy"??? His receptionist told me in the parking lot of his office!!!!! And I have never once heard form him since!!! He needs to retire...or something...he definately doesn't need to be treating hep c patients!!!!
BTW I met a lady in my new doctor's office, who almost died while on tx. Her husband had her rushed to ER. Her doc was out of town. When she went back to see dr. and told him they had taken her off the combo tx meds, because it was "killing" her....his reply was "well, we all are going to die one of these days"!!!!
Guess who her doctor was??? Yep!!!! The same dr.goofy I had the 1st go round!!!! We really weren't surprised when we both discovered we had been treated by the same quack!
I hope this post finds you better with each day that passes. You are in my prayers today and always, much luv, Cindee
I hope you and Betty are still managing to spend lots of time together and both of you are taking care of yourselves. You still have lots of time, so take advantage of that.
Kids......those darn kids!! Classic example of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This will be a hard lesson for her to learn, but surely they couldn't go THAT hard on her, could they?
Try and get those nerves under control woman, we are all stronger than we ever realize. This too will pass, and maybe, just maybe, one day you will be able to laugh over some of it. Take care Cindee. Couch
I have one request for prayer. I want to go back with my daughter to R.I. as I have decided to let my 10 yr old granddaughter (who I have custody of) to go back with her to visit her Dad and grandfather. It's going to be a surprise!!! My husband says NO WAY to me going. We will be taking a bus...and I will only rest when I get to R.I. The only thing I want to do is go to Conneticutt to see all the lighthouses. And they are on the Conn. side of R.I. so it wouldn't be a long trip when I get there. I am about to put my foot down and just say I AM GOING, like it or not! I have my meds and will be going only for one week. I don't understand WHY he doesn't want me to go! So PLEASE pray that he will see my side and not get mad because I need a short vacation! TY all again for you words of kindness and caring.
BTW, Betty and I are visiting alot these days. I have been on the phone constantly w/ contacts the American Cancer Soc. have given to me. We are almost sure Roche will pay 100% of Betty's chemo pills, and there is CancerCare...started by Mary Kay who will allow up to $150.00 for transportation to and from her doctor's and hospital each month. Every little bit will help. And God bless her, she said to me, how will I ever be able to re-pay you for all you are doing for me? I told her just to save me a big cloud in heaven right beside her's, so we will always be neighbor's!!!! Yesterday I rec'vd more info in the mail, and her daughter was at Betty's, so I dashed over in the pouring rain to get the applications to her to fill out. Everyone I have dealt w/ including Roche have been extremely wonderful in helping us.
So PLEASE keep the prayers coming...when I saw Betty yesterday...she didn't even look sick at all! Her color was good and her smile was, as always so precious!!!!! I love you all so much! God bless you all and have mercy on all of us! XOXOXOXO, Cindee
