My husband noticed the hair thing on me. I have not needed to shave my legs or underarms in about 4 weeks. I do get the odd straggler though. I don't care about not having hair on my legs or underarms but i too notice my head hair starting to thin although my hair is so thick i usually have to get my hairdresser to thin it out. So I'm just going to not get it cut or do anything damaging to it. I try not to brush it too much and i don't use any chemicals on it right now. I figure i have 8 more weeks of tx, and i don't really go out too much so i can let it go.

Any remaining hair on my legs or underarms is gonna haveta stay there 'til I finish TX coz my skin is sooo sensitive i can't tolerate anything abrasive.

No shorts or sleeveless tops for me.  hahaha

My head hair seems different, texture is changing, used to be curly now getting straighter so i cut it short.

i'm a male & my hair is also thinning (head & beard). lost about 20-25% or so. the hair on my head is now tending to grow straight up (never had this before), so i need frequent haircuts. interestingly, the hair seems to be growing faster & the hair on my legs is about twice the length it was prior to tx. this inf/riba does weird stuff!

This probably has nothing to do with Hep C but I learned at a continuing ed workshop on geriatric care, that leg hair that stops growing is due to poor circulation. Women used to always tell me that they shaved so long, their hair quit growing back. I figured it made sense, since that happens with eyebrows sometimes (overplucking) Then I learned it's a sypmton of aging and por circulation. My hair was falling out before tx, then stopped, really started falling out at week 10. I have thick hair so it's not really that noticeable, but I notice the handfuls of hair along the bathtub when I'm trying to not clog the drain!

I lost about 80% (and my hair that was left was so baby fine that it might have been only 50% but that is how it looked).

I WISH I had gotten the guts to try a wig much much sooner. For anybody struggling with trying - go to ebay and get one for like $29.99.  It makes you feel crazy at first like people are going to stare and point but - believe me - nobody even notices.

Now, when I get dressed to come to work it's one more piece of "clothing" to put on but - it makes me feel SO MUCH BETTER.

Plus - I can pick any style or color I want for the day ;)

Ahhhh the hair thing. Before tx my hair was thick & curly. 1st tx some hair on my head tended to thin out and lose its curl. After tx it seemeed to come back and I was fuzzy wuzzy again.
2nd tx it started to thin out again. I was startin to look a lilbit weird. I got a haircut but didnt like it.  The hair on top stood straight up. In my typical hepC  thought process I decided to TRIM it up some. I took the straight hair down a touch. Vanity mirror behind me, hand mirror in front of me, I took the elec shears and did just that. Now I realy look wierd w/ a big divit on top of my head.
My body hair does seem to be somewhat thicker.
I 2 am a male and has never needed to shave my legs or pits. But in my typical hepC thought process, who knows? It might be fun.
