anemia

by fellow traveler, Mar 30, 2003 12:00AM
Hey guys
I'm slightly anemic. (rbc is 3.97, hgb is 12.1, platelets is 94)Took my first of three shots of Procrit last week and felt a ton better.  Still alittle tired but not like before. My question - is it ok to excersize when you're anemic?  I want to stay on my stationary bike and my 19 year old just invited me out for golf but my logic is that anemia is basically low counts of red blood cells and that excersizing uses up red blood cells which you'd think you wouldn't want to do.  Right?  So, do you think I can keep excersizing, or is better to sit on my ass in front of the tube and **** everyone off?  (haha)  Just did shot 10 last night - almost half way thru (I'm a 2a with a 24,000 load) - the first 8 weeks was a cake walk but after that I hit the wall!  My doc mentioned possibly taking me off the Pegysis shot for awhile, but, needless to say I sure don't want to do that.
