Anna, here’s a link to a page that discusses interpretation of liver function tests; you’ll notice that there are many, many causes for this, outside of viral hepatitis:

http://www.aafp.org/afp/990415ap/2223.html

I’d continue to press for answers; your enzymes are significantly elevated, and there should be an explanation for that. Ask your doctor to kindly explain what is causing it; if he can’t produce a plausible answer, request a referral to a specialist; either a gastroenterologist or a hepatologist.

Good luck to you,

Bill

Thank you all. My doctor did not give me any advice, he explained FLT is increased by alcohol, but I did not drink. I had some symptom in the 3th and the 4th week. I'm really scared.

Yes, most develop HCV antibodies within several weeks of exposure, but for some it can take up to six months. An ‘HCV RNA by PCR’ test checks for the presence of active virus rather than antibodies, and is very reliable after 3 or 4 weeks.

However, there are may causes for elevated liver enzymes; alcohol use is perhaps one of the most common ones. Your doctor will counsel you, I imagine; what is his position so far?
