I agree that there isn't enough published about the hepatitis C virus and the awareness of hepatits C in all aspects of getting the virus, treating the virus and controlling the virus is really nill to none. Why assume that this man died because of hepatitis C? Is there other information published on him that leads us to believe that the article that you read was misinforming?

Poor ol Mr Billy's sides were bad last night. He had a very rough night but is up and at work today! #3 down can ya believe it?
I really think that Billy is going to need more than pain pills and sleep aids - keep an eye on him!
As to Ray Charles: he did shot heroin for 20+yrs. and its been common knowledge in the music community that he did have hep c and that was a catalyst to a change in his habits. (no drinking, etc.).
As to why no one lists hep c as cause of death, would you if it were true? or list 'complications due to chronic hep c?'
Most people wouldn't and won't. And the immediate cause of death is usually something else, not liver failure. Just as liver failure isn't always fatal. So its always a mix of things and survivors just pick something w/in their comfort zone, not the deceased. b/c the deceased is dead anyway.
