bad cold

Hello everyone:

I have not strated treatment yet, but I have come down with a bad cold and I feel so weak.  Just so different than any other cold I have gotten.  Could this weak tird feeling have nothing to do with the cold and just my hep getting worse.  I know this is probably a question for my doctor, but in the meantime, has anyone have this happen to them before starting tx.

Thanks for any imput on this.

That's a good idea too...logging the calls, etc. I guess I haven't gotten to that point yet since I am new to this. I will be starting tx this Fri and I am very excited! Finally doing something instead of sitting around waiting...the virus scares me more than the tx to be honest. Tx I can deal with but the virus in my body is a loathsome thing...

That is an excellent idea.  I have started a journal (on the computer) from diagnois date of hep c, but admit I usually don't remember to post it;  however, I did this morning. I also document every unreturned call to the doctor's office (they are really bad) and make note of all the testing done.

I think the total medical history is a great idea, and may start one of those as well.

Speaking of a 'journal of complaints'...I got so sick of going to doctors and not finding out what was wrong with me that I decided to write a health log of sorts...I wrote everything down from age 6 months on, I have a heading with my name, address, allergies, blood type etc. I continued on with every issue minor or major that I have had my entire life and ended with current complaints and family hx...I call it the 'manifesto'. Now all I have to do is print if off my computer and give it to the doctor...no more filling out lengthy forms and trying to remember everything in the few minutes I am sitting in the doctors office...I figured if I had it all written down in one place, a pattern might emerge..well when you add it all up, yes indeed there is a pattern allright! Many of my complaints are HCV related! My doctors are thrilled I wrote it all down and they have it to refer back to instead of scribbles nobody can read anyway...

I don't know the answer but I do know that stress weakens the immune system. So if you are just now going through the battery of tests to determine VL and genotype and perhaps getting the biopsy you are under a lot of stress.  If you are trying to make your decision to treat or not, I personally considered that to be one of the most stressful months of my life.

See what your doctor says.   Maybe this would be  good time to start a journal of all your physical ailments and how you feel mentally.
Best of luck, Kathy
