I'm not an expert on this subject in any way (just found out that I had HCV a month ago).

To the best of my knowledge bleeding gums are not a symptom but if you share toothbrushes, etc. with someone who has bleeding gums then you're putting yourself at risk of contracting the virus.

I'm not sure if the medications can cause bleeding gums but I'm pretty sure the virus itself doesn't cause bleeding gums.

Gingivitis does. ;-)

the fact that you are fighting another virus can mean more infection can take hold under your gums yes. The immune system is being pushed hard by the HCV.

then if you go on treatment, the Interferon will also have a tendency to weaken certain other macrophages opening one up to more potential infections. Mouth/gums/toungue/urinary/and lymph nodes are all places often infected or inflamed by the chemo.
It's important you get all your dental work done before beginning treatment if you can, and keep up regular cleanings 2-4 times a year during treatment to avoid any serious developments.
