bleeding issue

I am stage 4 with another type of cancer to. I have now started bleeding and it won't stop. Has anyone had this same problem. Went to ER but they say there is nothing they can do. Has anyone have this problem? I have never had nosebleeds or any bleeding for that matter and now I am. Just curious. Prayers to all! stef65

No, but the liver manufactures clotting factors and part of liver failure is the inability to produce those factors.  It usually shows up as prolonged clotting times in either the PT or PTT test (can't remember which one indicates lack of clotting factors being produced).  Low platelet counts can also allow bleeding episodes (clotting is a major job of platelets).
