Was over to see debbie this evening she said she bit her lip and it bleed for 2 hours. Also, she has been on her menstural cycle 3 months without even stopping and she said huge clots occasional. Does this have anything to do with the hepatitis.

I just read your journal and also remember you posting about your friend a few days ago. She is yellow, terribly bloated and is bleeding.... Has hep c and is still drinking. This is not good at all, but if she does not want you to help her tog o to the doctor, what can you do? Maybe you could call her doctor and tell him how she is. She needs immediate medical attention. But if she does not want to be helped, how far do you want to go? You could wait until she collapses at a certain time and then call an ambulance.

Where does the child fit into all that? Are you sure that this situation is not for the social services? Where are the grand parents? Or other relatives?

Agrees with this 100%, what is this for a child to see?   How old is the child?   Everyone of these things could scar a child, the drinking more so, someone needs to intervene here,    I can understand the fear over sociol services, but this is abuse, what about grandparents? Siblings?   I need to hush I have very strong feelings about this subject.

Children always first.

deb_c430, this is a 9 year old child being home schooled by this mother, a complete shut in forced to see allt this. Yet her friend seems more concerned with her. An adult working on killing herself. If the mother cares at all maybe having that child yanked out of that home just might sober this woman up

I am really worried about this now can do!  Homeschooling?  This is a bad age, all ages are bad to be left with this sort of mess,  I understand her caring about her friend, but surely this child should haunt her!   I dunno about it sobering her up, till she is ready, but her child should not be forced to watch her mom suicide!

Shakes head!

This is so upsetting.  Most kids can at least confide in a teacher, guidance counsellor or school friend, but this little girl may not have anybody to help her.  Its imperative that somebody call Child Protective Services immediately.  If I had the information to do so I'd be on the phone now.

I'm not unsympathetic to the mother, but she can get herself help if she needs it.  That little girl is pretty much at the mercy of her mom and Kimbo461, who should call the authorities RIGHT AWAY!!!

Your sitting on the fence could lead to tragedy for this child. She has noone else but you to speak up for her at this point.

It's hard to call social services, especially if you have a dim view of the organization and feel ambivalent about how badly off the child is. From where I sit, she IS in harm's way but Social Services can independently evaluate that.

At most, you will lose your friendship with Debbie but it will be worth it. And taking action may also lead to Debbie addressing her own health problems, which she's neglecting as she is her daughter.

How did she get approval to do home schooling, I wonder. Is there no accountability, no benchmark that has to be met on a regular basis?

Agrees,   yes some states are very strict, wondered about that as well.  How she gets through the certification.

I also think she is in harms way

That poor child must be terrified.  Is her father in the picture?  If you won't call social services will you at least call him?  Imagine if your child was in such a situation, wouldn't you want SOMEBODY to help her?  Please make the call.

Kims first post.....i am very concerned she has no job no insurance a 9 year old child whom she home schools which i believe she did because she didnt want the responsibility of dealing with schools, because she is drinking from sun up till sun down.

Plus she sleeps till 1 pm every day

Kim i'm not picking on you, you seem to be in the middle of a very bad thing.... but PLEASE think of this little 9 year old first..... Best to you
