bloody nose

has anyone had a small trickle bloody nose while on this treatment?  Talked to my doc, and I felt this was related to the pounding in the head and ears, so I was worried.  The oncall doc took me off my meds until the following morning when I had a chance to talk to my doc.  He reduced the copegus to 800 instead of 1000, until he read my recent labs.  When I didn't take the meds the night before, I woke up and could barely feel the pounding in my ears, and no bloody nose.  Well he called back after looking at the labs, and said to stay on the 1000mg.  Well last night the small trickle of bloody nose came back.  Also asked the doc if any of his other patients complained about the pounding in the head and ears, he said this was the first he heard about it.  The pharmicist had heard these complaints.
Anyone been able to stop the trickle if they had it?
Thanks Robin

have you ever had problems with your sinus? mine went haywire & caused my nose & gums to bleed was very scary-it happened during a time when my wbc, rbc & platelet counts were all low-take care & hope you feel better soon

i don't know what's causing the trickle, but if your platelets are low, trickles of blood tend to persist longer than they normally would -- making them seem more alarming on the surface -- i've noticed it from shaving cuts -- how is your platelet count?   is it marked "low" or "L" on your bloodwork?   hopefully this problem will be transient...

while the low red count was untreated, the "monthly" bleeding increased, my BP was high and slow healing and clotting was experienced some times. Can you insist on Procrit?

Bloody nose is ONE thing I know alot about.. I spent 3 days in ICU because of a nose surgery that went bad. I ended up having to have an embolism done to stop it. Me and bloody noses go hand in hand..

First off, go to the store and buy some Afrin nose spray. This spray will make the capillaries in the nose shrink, thus stopping the bleeding.. Follow directions on the bottle. Believe me, it works. It is what the Dr rx'ed me after my first surgery.

Second, once bleeding stops, get some AYR gel, or ocean spray. Put the gel inside your nostrils before you go to sleep. Also use the spray during the day to soothe the dryness.

Now, go!!! Take two and call me in the morning.

That's pretty scary. I did experience some of that pounding in ears and head early in tx. It eased off later. But the bloody nose makes it scarier yet.How is your blood pressure? That I think would be the big concern. Also, the tx dries us out quite a bit and the bleeding may be due to that. I would check blood pressure frequently and if that looked ok listen to Doc. If blood pressure is going up you may need to tell Doc there is a problem.Good Luck.
