Now that is some awesome news. I have 8 25 year old blueberry plants at my garden. I put them in my protein drink. May start adding the leaves. And, am a true java junkie....HA
I remember this post from back in the day and haven't really seen much recent research since 2009. It's like the whole topic and idea just faded. Well, other all kinds of folks hawking it as a supplement, that is. I wonder why there is absolutely nothing recent (??)

You guys, It's Blueberry Leaf Extract and it does block the reproduction of the Virus.......=sustained life, healthier liver, and Increased time for scientist to get off their *** and make a cure....It's gonna happen, this thing is not that complicated.
I think the whole coffee thing is about its good for the liver and good for this and that is just a advertising ploy, coffee is to me sickening,id rather a soothing cup of grey earl tea, also coffee makes my heart pound
Id rather eat a dead mouse (raw) than a hot dog and im not kiddn.sprinled with blue berries tho
After years of blueberry muffins, pancakes, popsicles (think Bubba and shrimp in Forrest Gump) it still took two treatments of non-blueberry interferon and riba to get rid of the hcv. I also had my share of leaves (though not blueberry) that didn't seem to do any good either.
So the answer might be to fortify interferon with berries, slimey algae, caterpiller mushrooms, silver, coffee grounds and cow parts. On second thought, isn't that what makes hot dogs?
I'd be nice if a blueberry leaf milkshake could cure hep but alas........if you can't kill the virus and cure the disease nothing much is really going to do anything to "help" it in any way imaginable.
I do like the fact though that they continue to look for something natural that someday might be able to help.
I'm gonna add the berries too, I don't care WHAT part they're looking at. I just LIKE blueberries. Besides they're a great antioxidant!

I've read that lots of coffee helps stop replication, steviaside may be another one to stop HCV.
Does this mean several times a day we grind blueberry leaves into stevia sweetened coffee?
they are not looking at blueberries, they are looking at blueberry leaves.
i make my protein drink with blueberrys & blueberry yogurt. The only down side it turns my lips blue. So, the blue lips coupled with my death face and thin dry hair...well, if it were halloween I'd definitely be in character.
yes, I spotted that in the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology's Journal of Biochemistry news about a chemical found in blueberry leaves blocking the replication of the Hep C.
They are currently thinking using a dietary supplement of rabbit-eye blueberry
could slow or stop the virus. Apparently, the researchers are looking into the details of how this stops HCV replication.
