Just a side note I spell Debby the same way :)

I don't know anything about cirrhosis really I was lucky and had not progressed quite that far but...felt I had to say hello to another Debby.

Good luck Deb!

Before my transplant I sometimes I felt unstable on my feet and would hold someones hand while walking. I wouldn't call it vertigo but I did fall down quite a bit.

The problem may be from encephalopathy. It is from ammonia build up and effects the brain. Is he taking lactulose?
Has he had his ammonia levels tested? If not, he should do so asap.
Not to scare you but encephalopathy can make one delirious.

Also, when your liver is that incapacitated, it takes a  lot of your energy away causing you to be very drowsy.
Call your doctor.
Good luck,
OH

Vertigo isn’t something that is typically associated with liver disease; at least not that I’m aware of. He should consult with his primary care physician to rule out other problems.

How is he managing his HCV and cirrhosis? Has he undergone treatment for it? How far along is his cirrhosis?
